Established in 1936, the New York City campus of Berkeley College has more than 1,700 day, evening, and weekend students earning degrees and certificates. Berkeley's two midtown buildings are on the East side of 43rd and 44th Streets, between 5th and Madison, just a block and a half from Grand Central Station, providing easy access to subways, trains, and buses. And the College's new Lower Manhattan Extension Center is located in the heart of New York's financial district, easily accessible by public transportation from the five boroughs.

Like their predecessors early in the 20th century, some Rockefeller researchers today seek to solve urgent public health problems. Others focus on basic research. Various laboratories study bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, multidrug treatments for AIDS and genetic causes of cancer. Others are devoted to understanding the brain–how it develops during embryonic growth; how it makes sense of sights, sounds and smells; and what happens when Alzheimer’s disease develops. In addition, faculty focus their research on human genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience and protein chemistry.

Founded in 1961, The Graduate Center is the doctorate-granting institution of The City University of New York (CUNY). In this nationally unique consortium of 1700 faculty members, a core faculty of 125 Graduate Center appointments is supplemented by over 1500 additional faculty members drawn from throughout CUNY's ten senior colleges and New York City's leading cultural and scientific institutions. With 4000 doctoral students, they pursue a shared enterprise of expanding the boundaries of knowledge in over 30 doctoral programs and 6 master's programs in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. A UniCarioca nasceu em 1990, sob o nome de Faculdade Carioca de Informática. Começou pequena, em um prédio de Botafogo, com apenas duas turmas de 35 alunos do curso de Tecnologia em Processamento de Dados. Aos poucos, fomos crescendo e ampliando nossa oferta de cursos. Em 1995, desenvolvemos a primeira Universidade Virtual do país, a UNIVIR. Neste ano também começamos com os cursos de Administração, Comunicação Social e Desenho Industrial. Em 1998, foi a vez do curso de Marketing e, no ano seguinte, Ciência da Computação.
Em 2001 foram criados o NUPEC (Núcleo de Projetos Especiais) e o LUPA (Laboratório UniCarioca de Pesquisas Aplicadas), projetos acadêmicos que promovem trabalhos de pesquisa e capacitação profissional. Hoje, são mais de 4.500 alunos que constituem o nosso corpo discente, da graduação em quatro unidades: Rio Comprido, Méier, Bento Ribeiro e Jacarepaguá.

Faulkner University has been a part of Montgomery, Alabama since its beginnings on Ann Street as Montgomery Bible School in 1942. Joe Greer served as the first chairman of the Board of Trustees. Drs. Rex Turner and Leonard Johnson served as the co-founding presidents of the school.

One of the first co-educational colleges chartered by the University of the State of New York and the oldest private liberal arts university on Long Island, was founded in 1896 through the efforts of Dr. Charles H. Levermore and Timothy Woodruff. Dr. Levermore became its first president. Mr. Woodruff, a former Lieutenant Governor of New York State, served as president of the Board of Trustees.

Spelman is part of the largest consortium of historically Black institutions of higher learning in the world. Its four partner institutions include Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine. Spelman shares cross-registration with its undergraduate partners. They also share the Robert W. Woodruff Library.

A história do campus de Niterói se confunde com a da própria Universidade Salgado de Oliveira (UNIVERSO). Em 1993, quando a instituição foi reconhecida como universidade, o campus já existia, juntamente com o de São Gonçalo. A história oficial do ensino das artes no Espírito Santo remonta ao ano de 1909, quando foi criado o Instituto de Belas Artes, que teve existência efêmera, encerrando suas atividades, sobre as quais não existem registros históricos detalhados, no ano de 1916. Outras instituições e indivíduos desenvolveram, isoladamente e sem maiores repercussões, o ensino das Artes: desenho, pintura, instrumentos musicais (principalmente piano e violino).

Tem seu começo em 18 de fevereiro de 1808, quando o Príncipe Regente Dom João VI institui a Escola de Cirurgia da Bahia, primeiro curso universitário do Brasil. Ainda no século XIX, incorporou os cursos de Farmácia (1832) e Odontologia (1864), a Academia de Belas Artes (1877), Direito (1891) e Politécnica (1896). No século XX, Isaías Alves cria a Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras (1941).
