Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, better known as Virginia Tech, is a public land grant polytechnic university in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. Although it is a comprehensive university with many departments, the agriculture, engineering, architecture, forestry, and veterinary medicine programs are considered to be among its strongest. Seleção La Salle: Consiste numa Redação, na mesma data do concurso vestibular, cuja nota final para aprovação deverá ser igual ou superior a 50 e a análise de Histórico Escolar, também com nota final para aprovação igual ou superior a 50, respeitando os seguintes critérios: Português e Literatura = 30 pontos e Objetivas (Matemática, Física, Química, Biologia, História e Geografia) = 20 pontos, perfazendo um total de 100 pontos conforme determina o Regimento Interno da instituição.

Virginia State University, located in Ettrick, Virginia (near Petersburg, in the Richmond area), was founded on March 6, 1882. It was the United States's first fully state-supported four-year institution of higher learning for black Americans. Its first president was John Mercer Langston who later became the first African American elected to Congress from Virginia. The board of trustees was African American except for one member. The faculty of the collegiate program and the normal school was African American until the mid-1960s. The name used by the historically black university's athletic teams is the "Mighty Trojans." Originou-se da Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinária - ESAV, criada pelo Decreto 6.053, de 30 de março de 1922, do então Presidente do Estado de Minas Gerais, Arthur da Silva Bernardes.
A ESAV foi inaugurada em 28 de agosto de 1926, por seu idealizador Arthur Bernardes, que na época ocupava o cargo máximo de Presidente da República. Em 1927 foram iniciadas as atividades didáticas, com a instalação dos Cursos Fundamental e Médio e, no ano seguinte, do Curso Superior de Agricultura.

A UniCarioca nasceu em 1990, sob o nome de Faculdade Carioca de Informática. Começou pequena, em um prédio de Botafogo, com apenas duas turmas de 35 alunos do curso de Tecnologia em Processamento de Dados. Aos poucos, fomos crescendo e ampliando nossa oferta de cursos. Em 1995, desenvolvemos a primeira Universidade Virtual do país, a UNIVIR. Neste ano também começamos com os cursos de Administração, Comunicação Social e Desenho Industrial. Em 1998, foi a vez do curso de Marketing e, no ano seguinte, Ciência da Computação.
Em 2001 foram criados o NUPEC (Núcleo de Projetos Especiais) e o LUPA (Laboratório UniCarioca de Pesquisas Aplicadas), projetos acadêmicos que promovem trabalhos de pesquisa e capacitação profissional. Hoje, são mais de 4.500 alunos que constituem o nosso corpo discente, da graduação em quatro unidades: Rio Comprido, Méier, Bento Ribeiro e Jacarepaguá.
