Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. The beauty and serenity overpower you while walking the grounds. Spring and summer bring the vivid colors of the trees to life. Why not stop for a minute to quite literally “smell the roses”? Ao longo de sua história, o teatro sofreu sucessivas obras de reformas que foram alterando a forma original do prédio, adaptando espaços e desfigurando seus seus núcleos históricos, dando origem a um prédio com características de diferentes épocas. No entanto, a fachada manteve as linhas arquitetônicas neoclássicas da reforma de 1888 e 1889.

Beleza e tradição caminham juntas pelo piso em xadrez de mármores de Carrara e verde grego. A escadaria em frente ao portão principal tem, em seu patamar, o busto do prefeito Pedro Ernesto, obra de Pinto do Couto. Mais dezoito degraus levam ao segundo pavimento, nos quais o pintor Carlos Oswald deixou sua marca. Produziu painéis, em forma de leque, representando cenas de época: A audição de cravo, O minueto, A cadeirinha e A cabra cega. Ainda na Presidência, pode ser encontrada uma loba romana, que amamenta os irmãos Rômulo e Remo, peça de bronze de Barye, grande mestre animalista francês. As pinturas no teto são de autoria dos irmãos Carlos e Rodolfo Chambelland, em estilo impressionista.

E, no dia 4 de outubro de 1997, Sua Santidade presidiu solene Missa celebrada por mais de 500 bispos do mundo inteiro. A Catedra. tem 75 metros de altura externa e 64 metros de latura interna, 106 metros de diâmetro externo e 96 metros interno, com capacidade para abrigar 20.00 pessoas em pé ou 5.000 sentadas. A exemplo de todas as igrejas católicas, também a Catedral do Rio de Janeiro tem como símbo máximo a Cruz.

The Fuller Building or as it is better known, the Flatiron Building, is located in the borough of Manhattan, and was one of the tallest buildings in New York City upon its completion in 1902. The building was designed by Chicago's Daniel Burnham with John Wellborn Root in the Beaux-Arts style on a triangular island block at 23rd Street, Fifth Avenue, and Broadway, facing Madison Square.
