Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. Em 16 de junho de 1950, foi inaugurado o Estádio do Maracanã, no Rio de Janeiro, para que o Brasil pudesse sediar a Copa do Mundo, já que a Europa encontrava-se abalada pela Segunda Guerra Mundial. In 1976, the Council on the Environment of New York City established the Greenmarket program, which provided regional small family farmers with opportunities to sell their fruits, vegetables and other farm products at open-air markets in the city. The most famous is the Union Square Greenmarket, held Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 8 AM and 6 PM year round. 250,000 customers a week purchase 1,000 varieties of fruits and vegetables at the market. The variety of produce available is broader by perhaps a factor of ten than what is found in a conventional supermarket.

A Casa França-Brasil é um Centro Cultural difusor de Arte Contemporânea, com Exposições, Projeto Educativo, Sala de Leitura e Bistrô. A instituição está instalada numa construção neoclássica tombada, projetada no século XIX. Em janeiro de 1816 chegou ao Rio de Janeiro uma Missão Artística Francesa chefiada pelo escritor Joachim Lebreton (1760-1819), com o objetivo de formar no Brasil o núcleo de uma Academia de Belas Artes. De suas atividades deriva o projeto do prédio que hoje abriga a Casa França-Brasil, de autoria de Grandjean de Montigny, idealizado para ser uma Praça de Comércio (inaugurada em 13/10/1820 e fechada um ano depois). Em 1824, o prédio é reaberto como alfândega. E, 1956 a 1978, sedia o II Tribunal do Júri. Fechado desde então, é reinaugurado em 29/03/1990 depois de convênio firmado entre a Secretaria Estadual de Cultural, a Secretaria de Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico, a Fundação Nacional Pró-Memória, o Ministério da Cultura da França, a Fundação Roberto Marinho e a Rodhia para a execução das obras que o tornaram um centro cultural.

Parque Prefeito Ferraz nome oficial do Campo, pertenceu aos Benedetinos do Mosteiro de São Bento, que adquiriram as terras em 1697, de Manoel Rodrigues Raimundo, saldando a dívida de forma peculiar: em gado advindo de Campos. Em 1840/41, com o Plano de Arruamento seus limites foram definidos como o que conhecemos hoje. Em 1882/83, o Parque foi aterrado e no Início deste século, foi urbanizado. Abriga o Centro Cultural Paschol Carlos Magno, uma Feira de Artesanato, exposições e inúmeras atrações.

O Parque Lage constitui a última arbórea contínua, entre as faldas do Corcovado e a rua Jardim Botânico.
Projetado inicialmente pelo paisagista inglês John Tyndale em 1840 ao gosto dos jardins românticos, foi parcialmente reformulado, nas décadas de 1920-30 e 1930-40, principalmente o trecho à direita, quando seu proprietário, o industrial Henrique Lage, mandou edificar nova residência, em substituição à que fora de seu pai, Antônio Martins Lage.

A Catedral de São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, ou como é mais conhecida Catedra Metropolitana, teve sua pedra fundamental abençoada e lançada por Dom Jaime de Barros Câmara, a 20 de janeiro de 1964. Em 1972, o Cardeal D. Eugenio de Araujo Sales, já pôde celebrar a Missa de Natal na nova Igreja. Aos 2 dias do mês de julho de 1980, Sua Santidade o Papa João Paulo II, em sua primeira visita ao Brasil, presidiu solene cerimônia com os bispos do CELAM, que comemorava Jubileu de Prata. E, no dia 4 de outubro de 1997, Sua Santidade presidiu solene Missa celebrada por mais de 500 bispos do mundo inteiro. A Catedra. tem 75 metros de altura externa e 64 metros de latura interna, 106 metros de diâmetro externo e 96 metros interno, com capacidade para abrigar 20.00 pessoas em pé ou 5.000 sentadas. A exemplo de todas as igrejas católicas, também a Catedral do Rio de Janeiro tem como símbo máximo a Cruz.
