Located in Anchorage on 5th Avenue beneath the 5th Avenue Parking Garage, the Alaska Trooper Museum is operated by the Fraternal Order of Alaska State Troopers (F.O.A.S.T.) with the goal of sharing the history of the Alaska State Troopers. The museum tells the colorful story of a dedicated team of police officers who continue to bring law and order to one of the most unusual, rugged and far-flung jurisdictions in America.

Helicopters, tanks, guns now silenced, and vacant bunkers welcome you to the U.S. Army Museum of Hawai'i. Once a bastion built to protect Hawai'i from invading forces, the structure now houses a Museum that tells the military story of Hawai'i, from ancient times to the Gulf War and the War in Iraq. Each of these hostilities is covered graphically in separate displays with photographs and sound effect creating a real "you were there" experience.

The Orange Empire Railway Museum's purpose is to preserve and display artifacts and documents of the rail transportation industry in order to educate the public on the technology, history and impact of the rail transportation industry in the West and more specifically Southern California.

The Onassis Cultural center is still carrying on the mission of Aristotle by presenting cultural and artistic activities concerning ancient, Byzantine and modern Hellenic civilization. The Indianapolis Museum of Art has a collection of over 50,000 works of art. At the Museum, you will find art from a variety of cultures and periods in art history. The Museum also features national and international traveling exhibitions throughout the year.

The North Carolina Museum of Art's collection spans more than 5,000 years, from ancient Egypt to the present. The ancient collection includes Egyptian funerary art and important examples of sculpture and vase painting from the Greek and Roman worlds. The collection of European paintings and sculpture from the Renaissance through impressionism is internationally celebrated with important works by Giotto, Sandro Botticelli, Raphael, Anthony van Dyck, Peter Paul Rubens, Antonio Canova and Claude Monet. American art of the 18th and 19th centuries features paintings by John Singleton Copley, Thomas Cole, Winslow Homer, Thomas Eakins and William Merritt Chase. Modern art includes major works by such American artists as Marsden Hartley, Georgia O'Keeffe, Franz Kline, Frank Stella, Jacob Lawrence, Elizabeth Murray and Joel Shapiro. This Cadman Plaza tourist attraction is home to one of the most uniquely vast transportation histories in the world. A visit to this museum gives you an opportunity to experience firsthand what this historic transit system is all about. Housed within ist walls are many different subway cars, engines and displays, all with their own story, and all showcasing the rich history of New York City transit. One can marvel in yesteryear with the ads from the early 1900s or discover the secrets of conduction, filtering and green energy through the interactive displays. The museum also offers full workshops and guided tours where patrons can further their knowledge and experience live the evolution of one of the most written about phenomenon in the world. This free Brooklyn Museum is open to the public and truly showcases how great Brooklyn has become in enriching its visitors and discovering the culture of New York City.

As you approach the New York Hall of Science Museum, you will be awed by the visual appeal of the large, rounded entrance featuring an array of windows, enhancing the open feel. Upon entering, you will be drawn into a quizzical world of wonder, exploration and exhibits for every age level. The fun starts with a Pre-School area where children can make music, play with trains or turn a crank to see the process of a pulley system and leads to hearing a story at the Science and Technology Library. Here, parents and children can bond over many great learning experiences. Sharing in hands-on activities brings a sense of closeness as you watch the wonder in your child’s eyes turn to amazement as they learn a myriad of new things in the educationally stimulating environment this Queens’ museum offers. Occupying one of the few remaining structures of the 1964 New York World’s Fair, it stands alone as New York’s only inter-active science and technology center. Some of the bravest men and women in all the world are those who serve the community as fire fighters. The New York City Fire Museum pays homage to these public servants through a variety of art, artifacts and tributes to the fire fighters throughout history. Inside, visitors will find displays on all aspects of the firefighting legacy from the pictures and guidebooks of the very first volunteer firefighting brigades to the gear used by modern departments. The museum features real life engines and horse-drawn vehicles giving you a chance to see the progress of technology throughout history. The museum also plays home to a very special 9/11 tribute exhibit which keeps the memories of those brave souls who fought and died. Spring 2012 has additions to the 9/11 tribute with special displays made commemorating the emergency service workers that gave their lives on 9/11. Another Spring display includes the “Remembering Their Prayers” exhibit, a special tributes from the friends and family surrounding that tragic day. The New York City Fire Museum is a cornerstone to the valor and honor of these New York firefighters, an American legacy.

O Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu tem como objetivo principal o desenvolvimento de um programa educativo-cultural voltado para as escolas e a comunidade local, através da divulgação de material arqueológico pré-histórico. Seu acervo é composto por objetos testemunhos dos povos que viveram na região antes de 1500 e traduzem elementos de sua cultura material. São machados de pedra, pontas de ossos, lascas de quartzo com variadas funções, polidores, peças cerâmicas e conchas provenientes dos sítios arqueológicos do litoral fluminense. Boa parte dessa coleção - 966 peças - foi doada ao Museu pelo antigo Agente Federal de Fiscalização de Pesca e arqueológico amador Hildo de Mello Ribeiro, que viveu em Itaipu por cerca de 20 anos.

Detentor de expressivo acervo da memória audiovisual do Estado, o Museu da Imagem e do Som do Ceará (MIS-CE), criado e implementado pela Secretaria da Cultura (Secult), desenvolve uma diversidade de atividades museológicas: ensino, pesquisa, antropologia cultural, cultura popular e expressões audiovisuais. Além do acervo disponibilizado ao usuário, o MIS possui biblioteca especializada (em fase de reorganização), sala de projeção multimídia e espaços expositivos.

O Museu da Casa Brasileira guarda e conserva objetos, móveis e equipamentos de várias épocas da história da moradia no Brasil. Construído entre 1942 e 1945, o antigo Solar Prado, implantado em um terreno de aproximadamente 15.000 m², é uma réplica do Palácio Imperial de Petrópolis, no Rio de Janeiro. O Museu é um importante núcleo de pesquisa, discussão de arquitetura e design. Sua biblioteca foi organizada e formaram-se uma vioteca e um acervo de documentação contemporânea brasileira e internacional.

O Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi é uma instituição de pesquisa vinculada ao Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia do Brasil. Está localizado na cidade de Belém, Estado do Pará, região amazônica. Desde sua fundação, em 1866, suas atividades concentram-se no estudo científico dos sistemas naturais e socioculturais da Amazônia, bem como na divulgação de conhecimentos e acervos relacionados à região. O Museu da Maré é o primeiro museu do país localizado dentro de uma favela, e foi criado pela própria comunidade, com o apoio do Ministério da Cultura, através do programa Cultura Viva. Inaugurado no dia 8 de maio de 2006. Seu acervo, em construção permanente, é formado por fotografias, documentos, objetos do cotidiano dos moradores da favela e por documentos e objetos históricos sobre a Maré, pesquisados em arquivos públicos da cidade. Sua exposição permanente é dividida em doze “tempos” não-cronológicos, onde os espaços contam a história dos moradores, imigrantes do Nordeste em sua maioria, e episódios da resistência social das comunidades.

Construído em 1872 por Bento Joaquim Alves Pereira, rico português residente no Rio de Janeiro, o Palacete Bartholdy ou Solar do Jambeiro é um notável exemplar da arquitetura residencial urbana burguesa, em meados do século XIX. Em meio à bela chácara arborizada, ergue-se o amplo sobrado, revestido de autênticos azulejos de padrão, típicos das construções portuguesas.

Construído em 1914, com o objetivo de reforçar a defesa da Baía de Guanabara, o Forte de Copacabana oferece aos seus visitantes muitas curiosidades e atrações. No Museu Histórico do Exército, fatos marcantes estão registrados através de exposições, exibições de vídeo, maquetes e, até, um setor interativo, original e bastante visitado pelos freqüentadores do Forte. Museu Histórico Nacional, criado em 1922, é um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil, reunindo um acervo de mais de 287.000 itens, entre os quais a maior coleção de numismática da América Latina.
O conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu desenvolveu-se a partir do Forte de Santiago, na Ponta do Calabouço, um dos pontos estratégicos para a defesa da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Visando recuperar a arquitetura original, ampliar espaços destinados ao público, aprimorar os serviços oferecidos aos visitantes, democratizar o acesso dos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade e viabilizar uma circulação e um percurso adequados ao discurso museográfico, o conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu passou, entre 2003 e 2006, por importantes obras de restauração e modernização.

Instalado em Ipanema, o Museu Amsterdam Sauer de Pedras Preciosas e Minerais Raros é uma preciosidade no bairro mais fashion do Rio de Janeiro. Num cenário típico das regiões produtoras de gemas, pode-se observar réplicas de minas de esmeraldas, águas-marinhas e turmalinas, pedras típicas do Brasil. Estão em exibição mais de três mil pedras brutas e lapidadas - esmeraldas, rubilitas, águas-marinhas (incluindo um exemplar de 635 quilates), turmalinas, topázios imperiais... Algumas delas são destaques no Guiness Book - O Livro dos Recordes. O Museu Amsterdam Sauer faz parte do roteiro dos mais importantes pontos turístico-culturais do Rio.

O Museu do Amanhã é um museu de artes e ciências construído no Pier da Praça Mauá, no Centro do Rio de Janeiro, como âncora do projeto de revitalização urbana da Região Portuária da cidade, o Porto Maravilha. Projetado pelo arquiteto espanhol Santiago Calatrava, o Museu do Amanhã é uma iniciativa da Prefeitura do Rio, concebido e realizado em conjunto com a Fundação Roberto Marinho (Grupo Globo) e o Banco Santander como Patrocinador Master. Tem a BG Brasil como mantenedora e o apoio do Governo do Estado, por meio da Secretaria de Estado do Ambiente, e do Governo Federal, por intermédio da Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (Finep). The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
