O Instituto Ciência Hoje (ICH) é uma organização social de interesse público sem fins lucrativos vinculada à Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC).
O site Ciência Hoje On-line é uma iniciativa pioneira de divulgação científica na internet brasileira. Além de disponibilizar parte do conteúdo das publicações do ICH, o site publica notícias exclusivas atualizadas diariamente que oferecem ao leitor uma cobertura dinâmica da atualidade científica no Brasil e no mundo.
Em 2007, foi lançado, em parceria com o Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, o livro Física Hoje - Uma aventura pela natureza: dos átomos ao universo, que reúne 11 artigos escritos por renomados pesquisadores brasileiros e originalmente publicados na revista Ciência Hoje ao longo de 2005, em comemoração ao Ano Mundial da Física.
O ICH atua também na divulgação científica em meios audiovisuais: o Instituto promoveu a realização do programa de televisão Tome Ciência, uma série semanal que abordou de forma acessível temas de ciência e tecnologia.. Em outubro de 2004, o ICH se uniu à Rede Globo na campanha Ciência Vale a Pena.

A Igreja sempre se utilizou da arte como forma de anúncio da Palavra de Deus. Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. Boa parte das peças do museu são provenientes do período Barroco, período este, caracterizado pelo excesso na ornamentação e pela exuberância das formas

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. Inaugurado em 12 de março de 1979, o Museu do Primeiro Reinado situa-se no bairro de São Cristovão, instalado no palacete que pertenceu à Marquesa de Santos, que ali viveu de 1826 a 1829.
Tombado pelo Instituto de Patrimônio Histórico Artístico Nacional - Iphan, em 1938, o Solar da Marquesa de Santos constitui o principal acervo do museu, guardando, em seus belos salões decorados, lembranças do período colonial.
A jovem Domitila de Castro Canto Melo apaixona-se pelo Imperador D.Pedro I e vem residir na Corte, a seu pedido. Era separada do marido, com quem teve 3 filhos.
O imperador adquire um terreno com duas chácaras, bem próximo ao palacio imperial, e encarrega seu arquiteto particular, o francês Pierre Joseph Pézerat, de transformar uma das casas em um palacete, onde a Marquesa viveria cercada de luxo e requinte.

Projetado pelo arquiteto Oscar Niemeyer, o Museu, construído no Mirante da Boa Viagem, local privilegiado que se debruça sobre as águas da Baía de Guanabara e leva o olhar do visitante até o outro lado, onde estão o Corcovado e o Pão de Açúcar. Niemeyer afirmava que ao visitar o local "imaginou o museu como qualquer coisa solta na paisagem, um pássaro branco a se lançar sobre o céu e o mar de Niterói"; o que quer dizer um supremo respeito à paisagem. Em 1556, o Pe.Afonso Brás finalizou a construção em taipa da primeira Igreja dos jesuítas em São Paulo, anexa às dependências do Colégio.
Prejudicada por 13 anos de ausência forçada dos padres da Cia. de Jesus, que foram expulsos da vila, foi reconstruída e ampliada a partir de 1667, que teve como padroeiro o Senhor Bom Jesus.

O museu foi a residência do fundador da República brasileira, Benjamin Constant, adquirido pelo patrimônio público logo após o seu falecimento, em 1891. Está localizado em uma área verde de 10.500m², no bairro de Santa Teresa. Possui uma exposição permanente de objetos, obras de arte e mobiliário que recriam o modo de vida do final do Século XIX e início do Século XX, época em que viveu Benjamin Constant.

O Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia é uma instituição estadual e está ligado à Secult - Secretaria de Cultura da Bahia e ao Ipac – Instituto do Patrimônio Artístico e Cultural do Estado, autarquia vinculada à Secult e gestora dos museus estaduais baianos, cuja finalidade é preservar os bens culturais do Estado e colaborar na formulação de políticas educacionais de cunho patrimonial, através da pesquisa, documentação, restauração e difusão da produção técnica e científica necessária a essa preservação.

Instalado em Ipanema, o Museu Amsterdam Sauer de Pedras Preciosas e Minerais Raros é uma preciosidade no bairro mais fashion do Rio de Janeiro. Num cenário típico das regiões produtoras de gemas, pode-se observar réplicas de minas de esmeraldas, águas-marinhas e turmalinas, pedras típicas do Brasil. Estão em exibição mais de três mil pedras brutas e lapidadas - esmeraldas, rubilitas, águas-marinhas (incluindo um exemplar de 635 quilates), turmalinas, topázios imperiais... Algumas delas são destaques no Guiness Book - O Livro dos Recordes. O Museu Amsterdam Sauer faz parte do roteiro dos mais importantes pontos turístico-culturais do Rio.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
