Kirkland Museum has a nationally important display of 20th-century decorative arts, with more than 3,300 works on view of Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Glasgow Style, Wiener Werkstätte, De Stijl, Bauhaus, Art Deco, Modern and Pop Art.

O local em que se instalou o MAE corresponde aos vestígios arquitetônicos do que foi o amplo e complexo edifício do Real Colégio dos Jesuítas, que incluía a atual Catedral Basílica. Construído, em sua maior parte, no século XVI, este exemplar único de arquitetura seiscentista/setecentista serviu como hospital militar após, a expulsão dos Jesuítas (1759), e mais tarde, ai se instalou a Escola de Cirurgia, fundada por Dom João VI, à sua chegada ao Brasil. Este conjunto arquitetônico foi modificado, em grande parte, inclusive com demolições, para se edificar um novo prédio, no final do século XIX. Após o incêndio ocorrido em 1905 as modificações arquitetônicas feitas por ocasião da reconstrução do prédio foram profundas, voltando este a abrigar a Faculdade de Medicina após a conclusão da reforma.

O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. A trip to the Sparks Heritage Museum is a fun filled learning adventure, focused on the culture and history of Sparks and the Truckee Meadows. Designed with the entire family in mind, several interactive and lifelike displays compliment the collections. The diverse artifacts range from arrowheads, quilts, and antique furniture to agricultural implements, mining tools, railroad items, and casino paraphernalia. Over 3,000 vintage photographs are currently digitized. Photographic copies are available for purchase. The research library contains collections of family memoirs, oral histories and local area reference materials.

Museum Park Miami is the City of Miami's official design vision for Bicentennial Park, an underused 29-acre, waterfront City-owned park on Biscayne Bay in Downtown Miami. MAM and Miami Science Museum worked with the City through its public design process to help create this vision. The bond issue approved by the City's electorate in 2001 provided the seed funds for the museums' projects. The Museum Park project will return this neglected park to the citizens of the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County.

O Museu do Índio, órgão científico-cultural da Fundação Nacional do Índio (Funai), foi criado por Darcy Ribeiro, no Rio de Janeiro, em 1953. É a única instituição oficial no país exclusivamente dedicada às culturas indígenas. O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. Formado inicialmente ao longo dos anos 40 e 50 por inúmeras doações de artistas, empresários e algumas instituições oficiais, o acervo do Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro constituiu-se uma das coleções de arte do século XX mais importantes no país. Apresentando um panorama completo e sofisticado da evolução artística de nosso século, dentro e fora do Brasil.

O Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS) tem como principal objetivo resgatar e preservar a memória audiovisual do Paraná. Possui acervos de discos, fitas de áudio, filmes, vídeos, fotografias e publicações relacionadas à sua área de atuação.

Inaugurado em 12 de março de 1979, o Museu do Primeiro Reinado situa-se no bairro de São Cristovão, instalado no palacete que pertenceu à Marquesa de Santos, que ali viveu de 1826 a 1829.
Tombado pelo Instituto de Patrimônio Histórico Artístico Nacional - Iphan, em 1938, o Solar da Marquesa de Santos constitui o principal acervo do museu, guardando, em seus belos salões decorados, lembranças do período colonial.
A jovem Domitila de Castro Canto Melo apaixona-se pelo Imperador D.Pedro I e vem residir na Corte, a seu pedido. Era separada do marido, com quem teve 3 filhos.
O imperador adquire um terreno com duas chácaras, bem próximo ao palacio imperial, e encarrega seu arquiteto particular, o francês Pierre Joseph Pézerat, de transformar uma das casas em um palacete, onde a Marquesa viveria cercada de luxo e requinte.

O Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu tem como objetivo principal o desenvolvimento de um programa educativo-cultural voltado para as escolas e a comunidade local, através da divulgação de material arqueológico pré-histórico. Seu acervo é composto por objetos testemunhos dos povos que viveram na região antes de 1500 e traduzem elementos de sua cultura material. São machados de pedra, pontas de ossos, lascas de quartzo com variadas funções, polidores, peças cerâmicas e conchas provenientes dos sítios arqueológicos do litoral fluminense. Boa parte dessa coleção - 966 peças - foi doada ao Museu pelo antigo Agente Federal de Fiscalização de Pesca e arqueológico amador Hildo de Mello Ribeiro, que viveu em Itaipu por cerca de 20 anos.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
