At the beginning of the 2009 Major League Baseball season the new Yankee Stadium opened its doors when the Yankees hosted a workout day in front of fans from the Bronx community. The first game at this brand new ballpark was a pre-season exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs, played on April 3, 2009, which the Yankees won 7-4. The new Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx, across the street from the original Yankee Stadium. It is built on a 24 acre area and has a price tag of $1.5 billion, which makes it not only the most expensive baseball stadium ever built but also the third-most expensive stadium of any kind.
Have the time of your life when you participate on the Yankee Inside Experience program, where fans are treated to a game day like never before. Guests attending the program are provided with an opportunity to meet with a player on the Yankees current roster followed by a guided stadium tour and buffet lunch.

Socrates Sculpture Park was an abandoned riverside landfill and illegal dumpsite until 1986 when a coalition of artists and community members, under the leadership of artist Mark di Suvero, transformed it into an open studio and exhibition space for artists and a neighborhood park for local residents. Today it is an internationally renowned outdoor museum and artist residency program that also serves as a vital New York City park offering a wide variety of public services.

The L.I.C. Community Boathouse is a boathouse located in Long Island City, New York. The boathouse provides access to the East River for the local community through various programs such as kayaking, rowing and sailing. The boathouse is a volunteer-run organization that aims to promote the use of the waterfront for recreational, educational and environmental purposes. The boathouse offers a variety of programs for people of all ages and skill levels. The adult rowing program is a popular option for those looking to get in shape and learn a new skill. The youth rowing program is also offered to young people, providing a great opportunity to learn teamwork and discipline. Kayaking programs are also available for both adults and youth, as well as sailing programs.
In addition to these programs, the boathouse also offers waterfront access to the community through its kayak and rowboat lending program, which allows individuals to borrow boats for free during the boating season. The boathouse also provides space for community events such as parties, picnics, and other gatherings.
The boathouse is located on the East River in Long Island City, next to the Socrates Sculpture Park and the Queensbridge Park. The boathouse is easily accessible by public transportation, with the F train subway line stopping at the 21st St-Queensbridge stop, which is a short walk from the boathouse.
The L.I.C. Community Boathouse is a great place for the community to enjoy the waterfront and learn new skills, while also promoting the use of the waterfront for recreational, educational and environmental purposes.

Often abbreviated as MSG, known colloquially simply as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City, United States. It is also the name of the entity which owns the arena and several of the professional sports franchises which play there. There have been four incarnations of the arena. The first two were located at Madison Square, thus the name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station. The present arena is informally known to some by the advertising slogan "The World's Most Famous Arena". Source

The World Financial Center consists of four copper-clad granite and glass towers that offer over 8 million square feet of prime office space for corporations around the world. O Parque Guinle é um parque público localizado numa área arborizada de cerca de 30 mil metros quadrados no entorno do Palácio Laranjeiras, residência do governador do Rio de Janeiro. O Parque foi no originalmente construído como jardins do palacete da família Guinle erguido na década de 20. A partir de 1940, o Parque Guinle passou a pertencer ao Governo Federal e foi objeto de um projeto de urbanização com a construção de um conjunto de edifícios residenciais projetados pelo arquiteto Lucio Costa, concebidos conforme os princípios propostos pelo arquiteto francês Le Corbusier, que serviram de ensaio para o padrão residencial das superquadras da capital do país, Brasília.

This non-profit center encourages environmental and educational awareness. A Long Island oasis, it advocates sustainable environmental policies and practices. Entrance and parking are free! The nature trails have many environments to be explored. Some of these include ponds and salt marshes where one can see shore birds and many small animals. Alley Pond Park, in which this New York attraction is located, also features a children’s adventure course; New York City's largest ropes course, a zip-line, a rock-climbing wall, and balance platforms in a beautiful woodland setting. There are many places to BBQ, run, bike and watch birds. The park itself sits on a beautiful 657 acres. Easily accessible from virtually any neighborhood in the city by car, bicycle or public transportation, there is every reason to come and spend a day relaxing, learning and exploring in this sublimely serene setting. A slice of paradise right here in Queens, it is home to the tallest tree in New York City, known as the “Queens Giant”, a tulip poplar approximately 350-450 years old and a stunning 133 feet tall. You can also dip your toes in Oakland Lake, 15,000 year old glacial pond fed by underground springs. It’s easy to lose the cares of the day in the beauty of this vast, colorful and unique Queens natural attraction.

Located across from City Hall in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. First established as a public square by the City’s founder Isaiah D. Hart around 1857, it is Jacksonville’s oldest park. Known first as City Park and then St. James Park, it was renamed Hemming Park in 1899 to honor Civil War veteran Charles C. Hemming, who donated the park’s Confederate monument (the City’s oldest and tallest) the previous year. At various times the park contained bandstands, fountains, comfort stations, and Tourist and Convention Bureau buildings, along with many beautiful trees. In 1978, the City converted the park into a brick-paved plaza, and completed additional work in 1986 that transformed the area into a single-level, pedestrian-oriented mall. Due to its centralized location, the plaza has long been a part of the downtown experiences for both tourists and local citizens.

Com a mudança da Capital Federal para Brasília, em 1960 a cidade do Rio de Janeiro passou à qualidade de Estado da Guanabara e o Palácio Tiradentes passou a ser a sede da Assembléia Legislativa do Estado da Guanabara. Anteriormente entre 1926 a 1960, serviu à Câmara Federal. A Guanabara existiria entre 1960 e 1975, quando se fundiu ao Estado do Rio de Janeiro e o Palácio Tiradentes passou a abrigar a Assembléia Legislativa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. O painel decorativo do plenário do Palácio Tiradentes foi executado por Eliseu Visconti em 1926 e representa a assinatura da primeira Constituição Republicana de 1891. No grande painel, restaurado em 2001, figuram em tamanho natural os retratos dos sessenta e três constituintes

As grandes cidades do mundo têm uma grande orquestra. Com o Rio de Janeiro não podia ser diferente. A Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, com seus 63 anos de atividade ininterrupta é a marca do Brasil e da nossa cidade. Em 2008, uma nova sede de 87 mil m2 na Barra da Tijuca, uma antiga aspiração da Instituição, abrigará a OSB e receberá o nome de Cidade da Música Roberto Marinho, o mais ousado projeto em torno da música sendo construído no país. Realização da Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, o projeto conta com a parceria da Fundação Roberto Marinho e é assinado pelo francês Christian de Portzamparc, autor da aclamada Cite de la Musique, de Paris. Roberto Minczuk, é o diretor artístico e regente titular da OSB e da Filarmônica de Calgary. Já regeu as Filarmônicas de Nova York, Los Angeles, Israel e Roterdam; as orquestras da Filadélfia, Nacional da França, National Simphony e Minnesota, Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, entre outras. Na Europa regeu as Filarmônica de Londres, Hoslo, Hallé, Nacional de Lyon e Royal National Scottish.

Primeiro prédio modernista do Rio de Janeiro, formado por um bloco de 14 andares, o Ministério da Educação e Saúde, projeto inspirado por Le Corbisier, passou a ser conhecido como o prédio do MEC, hoje Palácio da Cultura Gustavo Capanema, uma homenagem ao então Ministro da Pasta do Governa Vargas que ordenou sua construção. Inaugurado em 1945, congregou os melhores representantes da nova geração de arquitetos, pintores e escultores, como Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Cândido Portinari, responsável pelos painés e os azulejos decorativos do prédio, Bruno Giorgi e Roberto Burle Marx, responsável pelo aspecto paisagístico. Na edificação são elementos de detaque, o prédio solto no centro do quarteirão com as pessoas cruzando-o diagonalmente, o pilotis de dupla altura, o átrio de paredes de travertino, a escada helicoidal, a estatuária acrescentada ao passeio e as fachadas compostas de vidro e de brise-soleil, dispositivo regulável para entrada do sol.

O Arquivo Nacional, criado em 1838, é o órgão central do Sistema de Gestão de Documentos de Arquivos-SIGA, da administração pública federal. Integrante da estrutura básica da Casa Civil da Presidência da República, está diretamente subordinado à Secretaria-Executiva.
Tem por finalidade implementar e acompanhar a política nacional de arquivos, definida pelo Conselho Nacional de Arquivos - Conarq, por meio da gestão, do recolhimento, do tratamento técnico, da preservação e da divulgação do patrimônio documental do País, garantindo pleno acesso à informação, visando apoiar as decisões governamentais de caráter político-administrativo, o cidadão na defesa de seus direitos e de incentivar a produção de conhecimento científico e cultural.

O grande fascínio do espetáculo da Paixão de Cristo de Nova Jerusalém não está apenas na grandiosidade das construções, na atmosfera cristã que ali se respira e na beleza da história de Jesus. Está também na participação ativa do público, diante da mobilidade das cenas. Entre um ato e outro, uma multidão movida pela fé caminha entre os cenários, transportando-se por algumas horas à época de Cristo, revivendo sua saga e renovando os sentimentos cristãos. Do Sermão à Ressurreição, olhos atentos acompanham com paixão o resultado do trabalho de 40 anos, que transformou um sonho na realidade do maior teatro ao ar livre do mundo.

A Fundação Gilberto Freyre constitui o último legado de Gilberto Freyre à sociedade. Em 1986, com a concordância da esposa e dos filhos, ele dispôs, em testamento, sobre a doação de sua Vivenda de Santo Antonio de Apipucos, incluídos os seus bens móveis, o seu interior, para a criação da Fundação. Penso que ele, tendo sido o principal intérprete da cultura do seu povo, e tendo doado a esse povo e a essa cultura, durante toda uma profícua existência, o patrimônio de suas idéias e realizações, despojada e generosamente resolveu entregar aos cuidados do seu País, da sua região, do seu Estado, do seu subúrbio, do seu povo, o seu patrimônio particular: a Vivenda de Santo Antonio de Apipucos e, com a Vivenda, tudo o que particularmente se relaciona à sua obra e à sua vida.
