Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. An international museum, based in San Francisco, MoAD is committed to showcasing the "best of the best" from the African Diaspora. To facilitate this, MoAD reaches out and initiates collaborative ventures with institutions of similar vision from around the world. Already, the museum has forged rich relationships with the British Museum, the Museum of African Art (NY), Eileen Harris Norton and Peter Norton, and the University of California Berkeley, amongst others.

The museum's collection features the works of various African-American artists from both the 19th and 20th centuries as well as a selection of objects from the African continent. NCCU Art Museum has been called "the most important publicly assembled collection of African-American art in North Carolina" and boasts the works of artists such as Henry O. Tanner, Jacob Lawrence, and Minnie Evans.

The original impetus for the formation of the present Greenville Museum of Art was the first Women's Club Arts Festival in 1935. The enthusiastic community support of this venture inspired the festival leaders to develop an initial momentum that resulted in the formation of a permanent art facility in 1939. Rachel Maxwell Moore contacted the Federal Art Project in Raleigh, which authorized the establishment of a Federal Art Project's Gallery in Greenville.
Presently the Museum exists as a local attraction to the citizens of Greenville and Pitt County, although visitors from across the state visit the Museum regularly. Gallery talks and openings, tours, art classes and its numerous outreach programs generate a continued interest in the Museum. Participants and visitors range in age from young to old. Annually over 3,000 children participate in programs offered by the Museum and over 12,000 people visit the Museum.

O Museu Aeroespacial foi inaugurado em 18 de outubro de 1976. A importância dessa criação deve-se à necessidade de preservação e divulgação do material aeronáutico e documentos históricos para as futuras gerações. Situado no Campo dos Afonsos, "Berço da Aviação Militar", atualmente o Museu Aeroespacial integra o Campus da Universidade da Força Aérea – UNIFA. O Museu Aeroespacial recebe, em média, 10.000 mil visitantes por ano, com tipologia e faixa etária variadas. Desde o estudante que vem só ou em grupos escolares, até o mais aficionado pesquisador sobre o assunto, são freqüentadores assíduos do Museu, com objetivos diferentes, mas sempre com grande interesse, já que aviação desperta ao público em geral, uma grande atração.

O museu foi a residência do fundador da República brasileira, Benjamin Constant, adquirido pelo patrimônio público logo após o seu falecimento, em 1891. Está localizado em uma área verde de 10.500m², no bairro de Santa Teresa. Possui uma exposição permanente de objetos, obras de arte e mobiliário que recriam o modo de vida do final do Século XIX e início do Século XX, época em que viveu Benjamin Constant.

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. O Museu do Amanhã é um museu de artes e ciências construído no Pier da Praça Mauá, no Centro do Rio de Janeiro, como âncora do projeto de revitalização urbana da Região Portuária da cidade, o Porto Maravilha. Inaugurado em 12 de março de 1979, o Museu do Primeiro Reinado situa-se no bairro de São Cristovão, instalado no palacete que pertenceu à Marquesa de Santos, que ali viveu de 1826 a 1829.
Tombado pelo Instituto de Patrimônio Histórico Artístico Nacional - Iphan, em 1938, o Solar da Marquesa de Santos constitui o principal acervo do museu, guardando, em seus belos salões decorados, lembranças do período colonial.
A jovem Domitila de Castro Canto Melo apaixona-se pelo Imperador D.Pedro I e vem residir na Corte, a seu pedido. Era separada do marido, com quem teve 3 filhos.
O imperador adquire um terreno com duas chácaras, bem próximo ao palacio imperial, e encarrega seu arquiteto particular, o francês Pierre Joseph Pézerat, de transformar uma das casas em um palacete, onde a Marquesa viveria cercada de luxo e requinte.

Além de abrigar, documentar, estudar, conservar, expor e divulgar seu acervo artístico, a ação do MAC visa promover o debate e a reflexão sobre a Arte e as poéticas contemporâneas. Voltado para a comunidade local busca, por meio do desenvolvimento da sensibilidade e da percepção crítica, contribuir para a formação integral e a integração social do indivíduo, ampliando suas possibilidades de leitura do mundo.
O MAC está localizado na região central de Curitiba, próximo de escolas, teatros, livrarias e espaços de arte, área de intensa movimentação cultural. Ao lado da Praça Zacarias, está a poucos metros da Rua XV de Novembro, destinada ao trânsito exclusivo de pedestres, e da Praça Rui Barbosa, um dos grandes terminais de transporte coletivo da cidade. A concentração de populares e de estudantes de diversos níveis, associado à gratuidade de acesso em todas as áreas do museu, favorece o contato com a arte contemporânea e aproxima a população local de seu patrimônio artístico.

Inaugurado em 22 de abril de 1999, o Eco-Museu da Ilha da Pólvora. faz uma leitura e apresenta uma exposição sobre a história natural do estuário do Rio Grande. A Ilha da Pólvora, patrimônio do Exército Brasileiro localiza-se no estuário da Laguna dos Patos e possui 42 hectares de marismas, que são áreas periodicamente alagadas pela maré e servem de habitat para várias espécies de aves, roedores, moluscos, crustáceos, larvas e juvenis de peixes. Essas marismas estão bem preservadas e, por isso, são utilizadas com objetivos educacionais e científicos. Neste museu também são desenvolvidos diversos trabalhos científicos de graduação e pós-graduação, dentre os quais se destacam estudos sobre a vegetação, crustáceos, aves e roedores.

O Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo (lO-USP) foi fundado em 1946, como Instituto Paulista de Oceanografia. Em 1951, mudou para seu nome atual quando foi incorporado à USP. Na época de fundação, os objetivos de seus idealizadores apontavam para a necessidade de uma instituição que fornecesse bases científicas à pesca e, numa concepção mais ampla, à exploração de todos os recursos disponíveis ao longo do litoral paulista.

O Museu Nacional/UFRJ está vinculado ao Ministério da Educação. É a mais antiga instituição científica do Brasil e o maior museu de história natural e antropológica da América Latina. Criado por D. João VI, em 06 de junho de 1818 e, inicialmente, sediado no Campo de Sant’Anna, serviu para atender aos interesses de promoção do progresso cultural e econômico no país. Alojar-se no Paço de São Cristóvão, a partir de 1892 - residência da Família Imperial brasileira até 1889 - deu ao Museu um caráter ímpar frente às outras instituições do gênero.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
