The Century House Historical Society is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to the industrial history of the Rosendale natural cement region.
The Society is located at the Snyder Estate in New York's historic Hudson Valley.
The Snyder Estate Natural Cement Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Society is chartered by the New York State Education Department.

The Whitney Museum of American Art, often referred to simply as "the Whitney", is an art museum with a focus on 20th- and 21st-century American art. Located at 945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street in New York City, the Whitney's permanent collection contains more than 18,000 works in a wide variety of media. The Whitney places a particular emphasis on exhibiting the work of living artists for its collection as well as maintaining an extensive permanent collection containing many important pieces from the first half of the last century. Plans for this future museum include programs to enrich the lives of students of all grade levels. The automobile is an extraordinarily rich object, embracing science, mathematics, history, foreign languages, aesthetics, and civil and social issues. Students, scouts, community groups, and special audiences will benefit from educational programs. Hands on exhibits will be developed for all age groups.
For the adult population there will be lecture series, such as some on the history of the automobile, car collecting, racing, and the impact of the automobile in New Jersey, the country, and our society. Also, the museum will sponsor workshops that will provide fundamental knowledge about the parts of a car, how it works, and basic maintenance techniques.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art stands as a major center of American art, both historic and contemporary. Founded “for the purpose of encouraging American Genius,” the Corcoran’s extensive collection of 18th, 19th, and 20th century American art represents most significant American artists. The Corcoran possesses a fine collection of European art as well. While continuing its efforts to represent historic American works, the gallery also encourages modern European and American artists by showing and purchasing their work, paying particular attention to artists in the Washington area.

What speaks to American Freedom quite like the Statue of Liberty? Founded in 1939 with one open trolley car, No. 31 from the Biddeford & Saco Railroad Company. Over the years thousands of members have followed the founding fathers by helping the Museum grow to be the premier electric railway museum in the world. Today, our collection contains over 250 transit vehicles, most of them trolleys, from all over the United States, Canada, and many other countries. We are the oldest, and largest electric railway museum in the world.
The mission of the Museum is to present a living history of public transportation relevant to North American life through community-related educational programs. The Museum shall collect, restore, preserve, exhibit and demonstrate the operation of significant transit vehicles with emphasis upon traditional streetcar and interurban service, including rapid transit, trackless trolley and bus service with select world wide comparative representation. The Museum shall provide a repository for artifacts and information of an educational and historic nature relating to the origin and development of the transit industry and its contribution to modern society.

OMuseu do Marajó nasceu de modo informal em 1972, na cidade de Santa Cruz do Arari. Em 1984, foi instalado no prédio de antiga indústria de extração de óleo vegetal em Cachoeira do Arari, onde permanece até hoje. No dia 16 de dezembro de 1981 foi fundada a Associação com o nome de O Nosso Museu de Santa Cruz do Arari.
No dia 14 de julho de 1983, na Assembléia Geral dos sócios, foi mudada a razão social, sendo escolhida a nova denominação de O MUSEU DO MARAJÓ.

O MARGS é considerado o principal museu de arte do Estado e um dos mais importantes do país, reunindo em seu Acervo quase três mil obras de artistas locais, nacionais e internacionais, tendo sediado mais de mil exposições ao longo de sua cinqüentenária trajetória. O MARGS situa-se entre o tradicional e o dinâmico, e pretende continuar assim. Além de ser fonte de inspiração para cumprir com a função de museu, almeja também propiciar contatos, seja por meio dos documentos do imaginário humano, ou de uma prática social transformadora. Mais do que môuseion - templo dedicado às Musas da mitologia grega que inspiravam as artes - o MARGS quer ser uma casa de inspiração para os indivíduos que o freqüentam, um espaço de portas abertas para as relações humanas, com seu patrimônio estendido entre o presente, o passado e o futuro.

O (MCT-PUCRS) tem como principais objetivos disseminar conhecimentos sobre ciência e tecnologia, participar ativamente no processo de educação em todos os níveis e atuar na pesquisa científica sobre biodiversidade, paleontologia, arqueologia e conservação. O MCT-PUCRS possui uma grande área de exposição pública permanente, com mais de 10 mil metros quadrados, onde cerca de 750 equipamentos interativos estão expostos para visitação diária. Nesse mesmo espaço são integradas exposições temporárias sobre temas atuais e do cotidiano da sociedade. Atualmente, está aberta a exposição “(R)Evolução de Darwin”, em comemoração aos 200 anos do nascimento de Charles Darwin e aos 150 da sua mais importante obra, o livro “Origem das Espécies”. Uma equipe especializada fornece apoio pedagógico para professores de todos os níveis de ensino, a fim de que a visitação ao Museu seja um momento rico e intenso de aprendizagem. Ao mesmo tempo, a interatividade dos experimentos torna as atividades lúdicas e estimulantes, despertando o interesse pelo conhecimento. Programas sociais do MCT-PUCRS incluem o Museu Itinerante (PROMUSIT) que leva parte da exposição pública a outras cidades e estados do país, divulgando a ciência e a tecnologia fora da sua sede. Já o Programa Ciência-Escola (PROESC) transporta alunos de escolas carentes de Porto Alegre e arredores até o museu e os leva de volta ao final do dia, servindo um lanche durante o período da visita.

Em 1822, D. Pedro I, viajando em direção a Vila Rica, Minas Gerais, para buscar apoio ao movimento da nossa Independência, encantou-se com a Mata Atlântica e o clima ameno da região serrana. Hospedou-se na Fazenda do Padre Correia e chegou a fazer uma oferta para comprá-la. Diante da recusa da proprietária, D. Pedro comprou a Fazenda do Córrego Seco, em 1830, por 20 contos de réis, pensando em transformá-la um dia no Palácio da Concórdia.

Instalado em Ipanema, o Museu Amsterdam Sauer de Pedras Preciosas e Minerais Raros é uma preciosidade no bairro mais fashion do Rio de Janeiro. Num cenário típico das regiões produtoras de gemas, pode-se observar réplicas de minas de esmeraldas, águas-marinhas e turmalinas, pedras típicas do Brasil. Estão em exibição mais de três mil pedras brutas e lapidadas - esmeraldas, rubilitas, águas-marinhas (incluindo um exemplar de 635 quilates), turmalinas, topázios imperiais... Algumas delas são destaques no Guiness Book - O Livro dos Recordes. O Museu Amsterdam Sauer faz parte do roteiro dos mais importantes pontos turístico-culturais do Rio.

O Museu Inimá de Paula está localizado no município brasileiro de de Belo Horizonte. Foi aberto em 29 de abril de 2008. O prédio, inaugurado em 1932 e revitalizado para se tornar um museu, é obra do arquiteto italiano Rafaello Berti, um dos fundadores da Escola de Arquitetura da UFMG. O governo estadual, proprietário do prédio, o cedeu em regime comodato, por 20 anos, à Fundação Inimá de Paula. Localiza-se no prédio do antigo Clube Belo Horizonte e Cine Guarani, na confluência de Rua da Bahia com Rua Guajajaras e Avenida Álvares Cabral. O museu homenageia o pintor mineiro que lhe dá nome, com dezenas de sua obras expostas permanentemente no segundo e terceiro andares, enquanto no primeiro fica uma filial do Café Kahlua e no porão, um auditório de 151 lugares. Destacam-se os auto-retratos de Inimá, numa sala especial. No último andar são exibidas exposições itinerantes, que devem ocorrer duas vezes ao ano e pretendem trazer à capital mineira obras de importantes artistas brasileiros e estrangeiros.

Construída por volta de 1860, pelo médico José Martins Rocha, a casa é vendida ao Industrial Português José Francisco Correia - Visconde de Sande e depois Conde de Agrolongo (Títulos recebidos em Portugal).
Em 1903, o Conde retira-se para Portugal e põe a residência a leilão com todos os seus pertences, não aparecendo comprador. Pela mesma época a Capital era transferida de Petrópolis para Niterói e o Governador Nilo Peçanha resolveu adquirir o palacete para sede do governo, consumando-se a venda em 1904. Durante os 71 anos seguintes, teve o Palácio, 43 ocupantes entre governadores interinos e interventores federais.

A visita ao Museu inicia-se no Centro de Recepção, destinado a orientar e informar os visitantes. Esta estação é o ponto de embarque do Trenzinho da Ciência, o início da aventura. Espaço de integração entre ciência, cultura e sociedade, o Museu da Vida tem por objetivo informar e educar em ciência, saúde e tecnologia de forma lúdica e criativa, através de exposições permanentes, atividades interativas, multimídias, teatro, vídeo e laboratórios. Por ser vinculado à Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, o Museu assume características únicas, refletindo a cultura, a missão e o compromisso social da instituição. Seus temas centrais são a vida enquanto objeto do conhecimento, saúde como qualidade de vida e a intervenção do homem sobre a vida.

Criado em 1993, com recursos do programa de investimentos estratégicos do governo do estado de Santa Catarina, com a permanente participação do IPHAN, o Museu Nacional do Mar nasceu com a revitalização dos grandes armazéns da empresa Hoepcke, abandonados há mais de vinte anos. O local, que abriga grande diversidade de embarcações brasileiras foi revitalizado entre 2003 e 2004.

Museu Histórico Nacional, criado em 1922, é um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil, reunindo um acervo de mais de 287.000 itens, entre os quais a maior coleção de numismática da América Latina.
O conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu desenvolveu-se a partir do Forte de Santiago, na Ponta do Calabouço, um dos pontos estratégicos para a defesa da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Visando recuperar a arquitetura original, ampliar espaços destinados ao público, aprimorar os serviços oferecidos aos visitantes, democratizar o acesso dos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade e viabilizar uma circulação e um percurso adequados ao discurso museográfico, o conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu passou, entre 2003 e 2006, por importantes obras de restauração e modernização.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
