The National September 11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.
The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. Architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker created the Memorial design selected from a global design competition that included more than 5,200 entries from 63 nations.
The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.

The Big Kahuna The most visible enhancement to the park this year can be seen climbing 75 feet into the air: the Big Kahuna is an extreme tubing experience, which begins as guests board a four-person raft headed for a spiraling ride more than 700 feet long. Guests speed through triple dips and twisting turns on the alternately open and enclosed track before bursting into the sunshine and the cool splash pool below.

Aqueduct Race Track, also known as Aqueduct Racetrack or simply Aqueduct, is a horse racing track located in Queens, New York. The track is part of the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and is open for live racing throughout the year. The track has three separate tracks: a main dirt track, an inner turf course and an outer turf course. Aqueduct is home to several major horse racing events throughout the year, including the Wood Memorial Stakes, the Gotham Stakes, and the Cigar Mile Handicap. These events attract some of the top horses and jockeys in the sport and offer significant purse money to the winners. The track also hosts the New York Racing Festival, which features several graded stakes races.
The track was originally opened in 1894, and has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years. ”O Monumento aos Mortos da Segunda Grande Guerra Mundial, também conhecido como Monumento aos Pracinhas, localiza-se no Aterro do Flamengo, no centro da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O monumento foi inaugurado em 1960 para abrigar os restos mortais dos soldados brasileiros mortos na Segunda Guerra que, até então, estavam depositados no cemitério de Pistóia, na Itália. Como pode ser visto neste vídeo, o conjunto é integrado por três obras de arte: uma escultura de metal homenageando a Força Aérea Brasileira. Outra de granito, homenageando os soldados das três armas e um painel de azulejo em homenagem aos mortos no mar. Detalhe: a plataforma que se eleva a 31 metros de altura empregou, pela primeira vez no Brasil, o concreto aparente.”
