O Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian foi criado em 11 de março de 1971 e recebeu este nome em homenagem à instituição cultural portuguesa sediada em Lisboa, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. A origem do Centro Calouste Gulbenkian, que está instalado na Praça Onze, está ligada à necessidade de formar professores de artesanato para atender às escolas públicas do Estado do Rio. O Complexo Esportivo de Deodoro é um dos locais de competições dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016. O espaço conta com cinco instalações esportivas diferentes. São elas: o Centro Olímpico de BMX, o Centro Olímpico de Hóquei, o Estádio de Canoagem Slalom, a Pista de Mountain Bike e a Arena da Juventude. Após a competição, parte do palco das disputas por medalhas olímpicas se transformará na segunda maior área de lazer da cidade, batizado de Parque Radical. A Fundação Planetário do Rio é um centro de pesquisa e divulgação da ciência Astronomia e de ciências afins. O Trem do Corcovado é uma linha férrea localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A linha começa em Cosme Velho e segue até o cume do Corcovado, a uma altitude de 710m. O cume é famoso pela estátua do Cristo Redentor e pela vistá aérea de várias praias do Rio de Janeiro.
A linha possui 3,8km de extensão e utiliza um sistema de tração elétrico. A linha foi inaugurada pelo imperador Dom Pedro II em 9 de Outubro de 1884. Inicialmente utilizava tração mecânica, sendo que o sistema de tração elétrico foi instalado em 1910, se tornando pioneiro no Brasil. Em 1980 a linha foi modernizada com a compra de trens da empresa SLM, sediada na cidade de Winterthur, Suíça.
A linha férrea do Corcovado é uma das poucas que ainda utilizam um sistema elétrico trifásico, possuindo, assim, dois cabos aéreos. A linha possui 4 trens, cada qual com dois vagões. O trajeto é completado em cerca de 20 minutos, sendo que um trem parte a cada meia hora, o que dá ao sistema uma capacidade de transporte de 360 passageiros por hora. O Conservatório Brasileiro de Música - Centro Universitário é uma Instituição sem fins lucrativos voltada para o ensino e a pesquisa em música. Com 72 anos de existência, tem se destacado por ser uma escola em que todas as tendências musicais convivem, divulgando a música e a sua importância na vida das pessoas e na cultura do país. Instituição pioneira na criação do primeiro curso de graduação em Musicoterapia no Brasil assim como na criação de mestrados em Educação Musical, Musicologia e Etnomusicologia.

Tudo começou em 1945, quando os caminhões pau-de-arara, vindos de vários estados do Nordeste, chegavam ao Campo de São Cristóvão trazendo retirantes nordestinos para trabalhar na construção civil, onde já tinham vaga garantida.
O encontro dos recém-chegados com parentes e outros conterrâneos era animado com música e comida nordestinas, dando origem à Feira de São Cristóvão. Durante 58 anos, a tradicional Feira permaneceu no Campo de São Cristóvão, debaixo das árvores. Em 2003, as barracas foram transferidas para dentro do antigo Pavilhão, que foi reformado pela Prefeitura do Rio e transformado no Centro Municipal Luiz Gonzaga de Tradições Nordestinas. Hoje, a Feira de São Cristóvão tem boa infra-estrutura de limpeza e segurança, com banheiros públicos e estacionamento. São cerca de 700 barracas fixas, que oferecem as várias modalidades da cultura nordestina: culinária, artesanato, trios e bandas de forró, dança, cantores e poetas populares, repente e literatura de cordel.
