A escadaria em frente ao portão principal tem, em seu patamar, o busto do prefeito Pedro Ernesto, obra de Pinto do Couto. Mais dezoito degraus levam ao segundo pavimento, nos quais o pintor Carlos Oswald deixou sua marca. Produziu painéis, em forma de leque, representando cenas de época: A audição de cravo, O minueto, A cadeirinha e A cabra cega. Ainda na Presidência, pode ser encontrada uma loba romana, que amamenta os irmãos Rômulo e Remo, peça de bronze de Barye, grande mestre animalista francês. As pinturas no teto são de autoria dos irmãos Carlos e Rodolfo Chambelland, em estilo impressionista.

The Schenley Park Skating Rink is open for ice skating during the winter. Composta por 40 membros efetivos e perpétuos, eleitos em votação secreta e 20 sócios correspondentes estrangeiros, tem por fim o cultivo da língua e a literatura nacional. O Palácio Austregésilo de Athayde, situado na Avenida Presidente Wilson ao lado do Petit Trianon, foi inaugurado em 20 de julho de 1979, na presidência do Acadêmico Austregésilo de Athayde. O objetivo do então presidente era de construir um prédio moderno que no futuro se tornasse base sólida do patrimônio da Academia, além de fazê-lo instrumento de promoção da cultura sobre toda a nação brasileira.
Atualmente, parte do Palácio Austregésilo de Athayde é espaço para atividades culturais da ABL e local onde se situa a Diretoria e a Biblioteca Rodolfo Garcia.

Inaugurado em 1945, congregou os melhores representantes da nova geração de arquitetos, pintores e escultores, como Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Cândido Portinari, responsável pelos painés e os azulejos decorativos do prédio, Bruno Giorgi e Roberto Burle Marx, responsável pelo aspecto paisagístico. Na edificação são elementos de detaque, o prédio solto no centro do quarteirão com as pessoas cruzando-o diagonalmente, o pilotis de dupla altura, o átrio de paredes de travertino, a escada helicoidal, a estatuária acrescentada ao passeio e as fachadas compostas de vidro e de brise-soleil, dispositivo regulável para entrada do sol.

Considerada uma joia da arquitetura setecentista, a Igreja Imperial Irmandade da Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro é um dos maiores patrimônios da arquitetura colonial religiosa brasileira. Construída no centro do adro, é formada por dois octógonos irregulares, alongados e interligados, antecedidos pela base quadrada da torre sineira, cujo pé lhe serve de pórtico. Os trabalhos ornamentais em talha estão no altar-mor, altares da nave, tribunas e coro, e representam a transição entre o final do estilo rococó e o neoclássico. Sua autoria é atribuída ao Mestre Valentim de Almeida, expoente da azulejaria joanina , e formam um dos conjuntos mais importantes do Brasil. A devoção a Nossa Senhora da Glória surgiu no início do século XVII, alguns anos após a fundação da cidade, quando no ano de 1608, um certo Ayres colocou uma pequena imagem da Virgem numa gruta natural existente no morro.

O Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian foi criado em 11 de março de 1971 e recebeu este nome em homenagem à instituição cultural portuguesa sediada em Lisboa, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. A origem do Centro Calouste Gulbenkian, que está instalado na Praça Onze, está ligada à necessidade de formar professores de artesanato para atender às escolas públicas do Estado do Rio. O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. A Cidade das Artes é um complexo cultural localizado na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O prédio escultural erguido a dez metros do chão, no coração da Barra da Tijuca, projeto do arquiteto francês Christian de Portzamparc, abriga um dos mais importantes e completos espaços para a representação das artes. Aqui, música, teatro, cinema, dança, artes plásticas, e outras manifestações artísticas brasileiras e de todos os povos, têm acolhida de excelência que transformou o lugar em um grande centro de valorização da cultura, com solo fértil para a formação de plateia. A ideia de converter em Cidade das Artes o projeto original surgiu de uma conversa entre o Prefeito Eduardo Paes e o presidente da Fundação Cidade das Artes e ex-Secretário Municipal de Cultura, Emílio Kalil. Inaugurado parcialmente no final da administração anterior, o complexo de salas de espetáculos ganhou vida nova com a decisão de ampliar e modernizar seu campo de atuação para atender a todas as classes artísticas e sociais da cidade, e não apenas a área da música.

Tudo começou em 1945, quando os caminhões pau-de-arara, vindos de vários estados do Nordeste, chegavam ao Campo de São Cristóvão trazendo retirantes nordestinos para trabalhar na construção civil, onde já tinham vaga garantida.
O encontro dos recém-chegados com parentes e outros conterrâneos era animado com música e comida nordestinas, dando origem à Feira de São Cristóvão. Durante 58 anos, a tradicional Feira permaneceu no Campo de São Cristóvão, debaixo das árvores. Em 2003, as barracas foram transferidas para dentro do antigo Pavilhão, que foi reformado pela Prefeitura do Rio e transformado no Centro Municipal Luiz Gonzaga de Tradições Nordestinas. Hoje, a Feira de São Cristóvão tem boa infra-estrutura de limpeza e segurança, com banheiros públicos e estacionamento. São cerca de 700 barracas fixas, que oferecem as várias modalidades da cultura nordestina: culinária, artesanato, trios e bandas de forró, dança, cantores e poetas populares, repente e literatura de cordel.
