On Monday, April 30, 2012, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Port Authority will mark a major milestone in the construction of One World Trade Center with the installation of steel columns that will make the skyscraper the tallest building in New York. The Waikîkî Aquarium is one of the premier marine science institutions in the City & County of Honolulu and the State of Hawai'i. Founded on March 19, 1904, this marine aquarium is the third oldest public aquarium in the United States. Since 1919, the Waikîkî Aquarium has been an institution of the University of Hawai'i System. Situated beside a living coral reef on the Waikîkî shoreline, the Waikîkî Aquarium is home to more than 3,055 organisms of 464 species of marine plants and animals. O site Ciência Hoje On-line é uma iniciativa pioneira de divulgação científica na internet brasileira. Além de disponibilizar parte do conteúdo das publicações do ICH, o site publica notícias exclusivas atualizadas diariamente que oferecem ao leitor uma cobertura dinâmica da atualidade científica no Brasil e no mundo.

A Catedral de São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, ou como é mais conhecida Catedra Metropolitana, teve sua pedra fundamental abençoada e lançada por Dom Jaime de Barros Câmara, a 20 de janeiro de 1964. Em 1972, o Cardeal D. Eugenio de Araujo Sales, já pôde celebrar a Missa de Natal na nova Igreja. Aos 2 dias do mês de julho de 1980, Sua Santidade o Papa João Paulo II, em sua primeira visita ao Brasil, presidiu solene cerimônia com os bispos do CELAM, que comemorava Jubileu de Prata. E, no dia 4 de outubro de 1997, Sua Santidade presidiu solene Missa celebrada por mais de 500 bispos do mundo inteiro. A Catedra. tem 75 metros de altura externa e 64 metros de latura interna, 106 metros de diâmetro externo e 96 metros interno, com capacidade para abrigar 20.00 pessoas em pé ou 5.000 sentadas. A exemplo de todas as igrejas católicas, também a Catedral do Rio de Janeiro tem como símbo máximo a Cruz.

O Palácio do Itamaraty, de grande valor histórico e artístico é uma construção de 1851, autoria de Francisco José da Rocha, Conde de Itamarati. Foi sede do governo republicano de 1889 a 1898 e sede do Ministério das Relações Exteriores de 1899 a 1970. Os jardins e lago internos são de autoria de Jacinto Rebelo, como também o projeto do edifício principal do palácio, em estilo neoclássico, simétrico e de nobres proporções. Abriga, hoje, o Museu Histórico e Diplomático, Arquivo Histórico e Mapoteca. A edificação é o 8º prédio tombado pelo Patrimônio Histórico no país. Funciona no Palácio Itamaraty, a mais completa biblioteca de referência das Nações Unidas no Brasil, com documentos sobre a Organização internacional. A Biblioteca do Centro de Informação da ONU no Rio de Janeiro possui mais de 15 mil livros e 300 títulos de periódicos a disposição dos usuários, além de folhetos e material informativo.

O bonde sai do centro da cidade, passa sobre os Arcos da Lapa e segue a rota do tempo no sobe-e-desce das ladeiras de Santa Teresa. O ponto de partida é a estação no Largo da Carioca: a estação fica bem perto da sede da Petrobrás, na Rua Lélio Gama. O lugar tem um jardim encantador e revela um pouco do que se vai encontrar nesse passeio.

A Cidade das Artes é um complexo cultural localizado na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O prédio escultural erguido a dez metros do chão, no coração da Barra da Tijuca, projeto do arquiteto francês Christian de Portzamparc, abriga um dos mais importantes e completos espaços para a representação das artes. A ideia de converter em Cidade das Artes o projeto original surgiu de uma conversa entre o Prefeito Eduardo Paes e o presidente da Fundação Cidade das Artes e ex-Secretário Municipal de Cultura, Emílio Kalil. Inaugurado parcialmente no final da administração anterior, o complexo de salas de espetáculos ganhou vida nova com a decisão de ampliar e modernizar seu campo de atuação para atender a todas as classes artísticas e sociais da cidade, e não apenas a área da música.
