As one of the world's most innovative museums of modern and contemporary art, SFMOMA has had an active Web presence for over nine years (a very long time, when measured in Internet time). During this period we have redesigned our site twice, always with the idea that a museum such as ours should continually strive to improve the ways in which it serves a diverse public. And, as our collective understanding of emerging digital technologies has increased, we felt that perhaps it was time to use the Web to explore our understanding of the museum itself.

The Grey Nuns' convent, Winnipeg's oldest building, houses Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum. In 1993, with the success of the Just For Laughs Festival, Gilbert Rozon created a place to recognize laughter and humour as cultural phenomena - the Just For Laughs Museum (JFLM). The Museum's history is marked by many challenging happenings - some sidesplitting, some discouraging, but none boring! Nonetheless, the Museum lives on!
The Just For Laughs Museum is a venue for thematic exhibitions, a multi-functional space for the presentation of public, private or professional events, and a media documentation centre for the promotion, research and distribution of information about laugher, humour and fantasy. Primeiro monumento construído especialmente para preservar a memória da Independência do Brasil, o Museu Paulista, inaugurado em 7 de setembro de 1895, foi criado como Museu de Ciências Naturais. Em 1819 retomou sua vocação original e é hoje um museu histórico. Também é conhecido como Museu do Ipiranga. Seu acervo, com cerca de 100 mil peças, é constituído por obras de arte, mobiliário, trajes e utensílios que pertenceram a personalidades da história brasileira, como os bandeirantes e os imperadores. As instalações abrigam uma biblioteca com 100 mil volumes e um Centro de Documentação Histórica, com 40 mil manuscritos.

O edifício da Bolsa Oficial do Café passou por restauração, concluída em 1998, realizada com muita competência pelo Governo do Estado de São Paulo, tornou o prédio um monumento de grandiosa imponência histórica, oferecendo instalações muito adequadas para o funcionamento do Museu do Café, dentro de uma concepção moderna e versátil. No mesmo ano foi concedido à Associação dos Amigos dos Cafés do Brasil, através do Decreto Estadual n° 43.389, de 18 de agosto de 1998, a Permissão de Uso, com o propósito bem definido de ser instituído o Museu do Café.

O Museu de Zoologia faz estudos sobre animais, especialmente sobre a fauna da Região Neotropical, que abrange a América do Sul e a América Central.
As pesquisas zoológicas são feitas principalmente nas áreas de taxonomia, sistemática, evolução e biogeografia e baseiam-se nas grandes coleções de animais, hoje com cerca de 8 milhões de exemplares conservados em meio líquido ou a seco.
Além das coleções, o Museu também é responsável pela Estação Biológica de Boracéia, uma reserva de Mata Atlântica, situado no municípío de Salesópolis, estado de São Paulo.

O Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia é uma instituição estadual e está ligado à Secult - Secretaria de Cultura da Bahia e ao Ipac – Instituto do Patrimônio Artístico e Cultural do Estado, autarquia vinculada à Secult e gestora dos museus estaduais baianos, cuja finalidade é preservar os bens culturais do Estado e colaborar na formulação de políticas educacionais de cunho patrimonial, através da pesquisa, documentação, restauração e difusão da produção técnica e científica necessária a essa preservação.

O (MCT-PUCRS) tem como principais objetivos disseminar conhecimentos sobre ciência e tecnologia, participar ativamente no processo de educação em todos os níveis e atuar na pesquisa científica sobre biodiversidade, paleontologia, arqueologia e conservação. O MCT-PUCRS possui uma grande área de exposição pública permanente, com mais de 10 mil metros quadrados, onde cerca de 750 equipamentos interativos estão expostos para visitação diária. Nesse mesmo espaço são integradas exposições temporárias sobre temas atuais e do cotidiano da sociedade. Atualmente, está aberta a exposição “(R)Evolução de Darwin”, em comemoração aos 200 anos do nascimento de Charles Darwin e aos 150 da sua mais importante obra, o livro “Origem das Espécies”. Uma equipe especializada fornece apoio pedagógico para professores de todos os níveis de ensino, a fim de que a visitação ao Museu seja um momento rico e intenso de aprendizagem. Ao mesmo tempo, a interatividade dos experimentos torna as atividades lúdicas e estimulantes, despertando o interesse pelo conhecimento. Programas sociais do MCT-PUCRS incluem o Museu Itinerante (PROMUSIT) que leva parte da exposição pública a outras cidades e estados do país, divulgando a ciência e a tecnologia fora da sua sede. Já o Programa Ciência-Escola (PROESC) transporta alunos de escolas carentes de Porto Alegre e arredores até o museu e os leva de volta ao final do dia, servindo um lanche durante o período da visita.

O museu foi a residência do fundador da República brasileira, Benjamin Constant, adquirido pelo patrimônio público logo após o seu falecimento, em 1891. Está localizado em uma área verde de 10.500m², no bairro de Santa Teresa. Possui uma exposição permanente de objetos, obras de arte e mobiliário que recriam o modo de vida do final do Século XIX e início do Século XX, época em que viveu Benjamin Constant.

Empresário bem-sucedido, Raymundo Ottoni de Castro Maya (1894-1968) soube conciliar atividades empresariais muito bem sucedidas com as de realização de projetos culturais. A sua atividade como colecionador que nos legou os registros materiais desse esforço. O apoio a valores artísticos nacionais e a busca do acesso público às suas coleções tornavam-no um tipo de mecenas moderno e urbano, comprometido com a cidade em que vivia É igualmente importante destacar a sua participação na fundação do Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, em 1948, do qual foi o primeiro presidente.

O Ministério Público do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul chamou a si a tarefa de restauração do prédio do Palácio Provisório que começou a ser construído em 1857, na esquina da Praça da Matriz com a Rua Jerônimo Coelho, em Porto Alegre. Atualmente é considerado parte significativa do patrimônio histórico gaúcho, tendo sido tombado pelos poderes competentes. O edifício abrigou a Diretoria de Obras Públicas da Província, a Repartição dos Telégrafos e o antigo Comando das Armas da Província de São Pedro . Entre 1896 e 1921 foi provisoriamente sede do Governo sul-rio-grandense, já que o Palácio Piratini encontrava-se em construção.Após 1921, foi ocupado pela Secretaria de Saúde até início da década de 1960. Entre 1963 e 1998 funcionaram orgãos da Justiça como Escola Superior de Magistratura e Varas de Família. A partir de 1998, passou a integrar o patrimônio do Ministério Pùblico. O prédio foi adaptado para receber as instalações do Memorial do Ministério Público e o Gabinete do Procurador Geral de Justiça. As atividades da nova instituição começaram com a implantação de um projeto de memória institucional. A Procuradoria Geral de Justiça investiu na instalação de um centro de documentação e memória oral, a partir do qual são realizadas pesquisas históricas, publicações e exposições. O Memorial promove também seminários tematizando a trajetória e as perspectivas do Ministério Público no Rio Grande do Sul e no Brasil. O Memorial do Ministério Público ainda desenvolve projetos junto à comunidade, que reforçando e esclarecendo os mecanismos disponíveis para o exercício da cidadania. Com a implantação do Memorial do Ministério Público, o Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul contribui para a preservação do patrimônio cultural, recupera a memória institucional, investindo na formação de um novo campo historiográfico, e, sobretudo, oferece à população uma instituição cultural dinâmica, cujas atividades deverão concorrer para o aperfeiçoamento da nossa cidadania e para o reforço das nossas instituições democráticas.

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. O Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC USP) tem em seu acervo cerca de 8.000 obras, entre óleos, desenhos, gravuras, esculturas, objetos e trabalhos conceituais, constituindo grande patrimônio cultural com decorrências sociais nacionais e internacionais. São obras de artistas como Anita Malfatti, Di Cavalcanti, Brecheret, Tarsila, Rego Monteiro, Portinari, Oiticica, De Chirico, Modigliani, Boccioni, Picasso, Chagall, entre tantos outros.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
