Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. The Noble Maritime Museum is a tribute to maritime culture and displays the people and traditions of the working waterfront in its educational exhibitions. Before even entering into the museum, patrons are greeted by a beautiful array of sun and light overlooking the harbor. This is significant because the museum was built around the houseboat home of John A. Noble, the famous maritime artist and recorder of the past. The Noble Maritime Museum plays host to much of his life’s work in documenting the end of the Age of Sail. It is a beautiful example of the history of Maritime events. Several of the exhibitions include the oil paintings of John A. Noble with special focus on ship models and crew presentations, a look at merchant ships and their effect on New York trade, and a Spring 2012 opening of a Titanic exhibit. Also featured at the museum is the history of Sailors' Snug Harbor, the famous retirement home and the oldest charitable institution in America. Bishop Museum was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop in honor of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. The Museum was established to house the extensive collection of Hawaiian artifacts and royal family heirlooms of the Princess, and has expanded to include millions of artifacts, documents and photographs about Hawai‘i and other Pacific island cultures.

O Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo (lO-USP) foi fundado em 1946, como Instituto Paulista de Oceanografia. Em 1951, mudou para seu nome atual quando foi incorporado à USP. Na época de fundação, os objetivos de seus idealizadores apontavam para a necessidade de uma instituição que fornecesse bases científicas à pesca e, numa concepção mais ampla, à exploração de todos os recursos disponíveis ao longo do litoral paulista.

Construído em 1914, com o objetivo de reforçar a defesa da Baía de Guanabara, o Forte de Copacabana oferece aos seus visitantes muitas curiosidades e atrações. No Museu Histórico do Exército, fatos marcantes estão registrados através de exposições, exibições de vídeo, maquetes e, até, um setor interativo, original e bastante visitado pelos freqüentadores do Forte. O Arquivo Histórico Judaico de Pernambuco instalou-se, em dezembro de 2001, no Museu Sinagoga Kahal Zur Israel. Responsável pelas ações museológicas do espaço, constituiu-se como uma associação civil de direito privado, sem fins lucrativos, filiado à Federação Israelita de Pernambuco.
É parceiro também das unidades do Museu Judaico do Rio de Janeiro , Arquivo Histórico Judaico Brasileiro em São Paulo, Instituto Histórico Israelita Mineiro em Belo Horizonte-MG , Instituto Marc Chagal em Porto Alegre –RS, entre outros.

OMuseu do Marajó nasceu de modo informal em 1972, na cidade de Santa Cruz do Arari. Em 1984, foi instalado no prédio de antiga indústria de extração de óleo vegetal em Cachoeira do Arari, onde permanece até hoje. No dia 16 de dezembro de 1981 foi fundada a Associação com o nome de O Nosso Museu de Santa Cruz do Arari.
No dia 14 de julho de 1983, na Assembléia Geral dos sócios, foi mudada a razão social, sendo escolhida a nova denominação de O MUSEU DO MARAJÓ.

A idéia da criação de uma instituição que privilegiasse a cultura gaúcha surgiu entre 1995 e 1996, sendo concretizada através de um convênio entre o governo federal e o governo estadual, em setembro de 1996. Ficou acordado, nessa ocasião, que a sede dos Correios e Telégrafos por quase um século, abrigaria um centro histórico sobre a memória rio-grandense. O acordo de cedência do prédio implicaria também na criação de um Museu Postal e uma Agência Filatélica, o que manteria uma estreita vinculação com as suas funções originais. O projeto de restauração foi previamente aprovado pelo IPHAN (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional), uma vez que o prédio foi tombado em 1980. O antigo prédio dos Correios e Telégrafos foi totalmente revitalizado para abrigar a Instituição. Surgiu, dessa forma, um centro de informação e divulgação da história do estado, reunindo objetos, mapas, gravuras, fotos, livros, imagens iconográficas e depoimentos importantes sobre os principais fatos ocorridos no Rio Grande do Sul. O riquíssimo acervo está exposto através de uma concepção museográfica moderna aliada a novas tecnologias, permitindo, assim, a integração com o público e o fácil entendimento dos conteúdos.

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O CCBB oferece ao público uma programação cultural que é referência no Rio de Janeiro e no Brasil. Com projetos nas mais diversas áreas, o Centro tem um volume de freqüentadores comparável ao de outras grandes instituições culturais do mundo.
Nos vários campos da arte, a programação procura oferecer obras que vão do clássico ao experimental, do erudito ao popular, dos grandes mestres aos talentos iniciantes. Esses critérios de seleção permitem ao CCBB alcançar freqüentadores com os mais abrangentes níveis de interesse. Instalado no número 66 da Rua Primeiro de Março, o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil é uma das jóias arquitetônicas da Cidade. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. O freqüentador dispõe ainda de restaurante, casa de chá, bombonière e loja de produtos culturais.

O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

Museu Histórico Nacional, criado em 1922, é um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil, reunindo um acervo de mais de 287.000 itens, entre os quais a maior coleção de numismática da América Latina.
O conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu desenvolveu-se a partir do Forte de Santiago, na Ponta do Calabouço, um dos pontos estratégicos para a defesa da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Visando recuperar a arquitetura original, ampliar espaços destinados ao público, aprimorar os serviços oferecidos aos visitantes, democratizar o acesso dos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade e viabilizar uma circulação e um percurso adequados ao discurso museográfico, o conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu passou, entre 2003 e 2006, por importantes obras de restauração e modernização.

Criado em 1993, com recursos do programa de investimentos estratégicos do governo do estado de Santa Catarina, com a permanente participação do IPHAN, o Museu Nacional do Mar nasceu com a revitalização dos grandes armazéns da empresa Hoepcke, abandonados há mais de vinte anos. O local, que abriga grande diversidade de embarcações brasileiras foi revitalizado entre 2003 e 2004.

Em 1556, o Pe.Afonso Brás finalizou a construção em taipa da primeira Igreja dos jesuítas em São Paulo, anexa às dependências do Colégio.
Prejudicada por 13 anos de ausência forçada dos padres da Cia. de Jesus, que foram expulsos da vila, foi reconstruída e ampliada a partir de 1667, que teve como padroeiro o Senhor Bom Jesus.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
