A imponente e conceituada Sala Cecília Meireles, uma edificação do século XIX, está localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, no Largo da Lapa. Tradicional casa de concertos de música de câmara no cenário cultural da cidade, assim denominada em homenagem à poetisa, pianista Cecília Meireles. O prédio, originalmente erguido para funcionar como hotel (Grande Hotel da Lapa) recebeu empresários e políticos da República Velha. Posteriormente, em 1948 foi reformado e transformado em sala de cinema (Cine Colonial). Desde o início da década de 70, vem recebendo atenções especiais das autoridades do estado do Rio de Janeiro com o apoio de instituições privadas objetivando manter um espaço cultural permanente para difusão de música erudita, em particular a música de câmara. The first two were located at Madison Square, thus the name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station. Na década de 80, Cesarina Riso, primogênita do casamento do Comendador com a artista plástica amazonense Camélia Riso inicia trabalho de adaptação e reestruturação da antiga mansão transformando-a em sofisticado centro cultural e casa de reuniões sociais inspirada nas “ville” italianas...

Nasceu de uma idéia no ano de 1994, de duas irmãs que tinham como objetivo principal proporcionar à criança urbana um contato com a vida rural, resgatando, de uma maneira lúdica, a infância perdida de quem vive nos grandes centros. Animais de porte pequeno e médio, bem próximos de se habitat natural, fazem a alegria da criançada. A Fazendinha recebe até visita de índios de verdade. O Conservatório Brasileiro de Música - Centro Universitário é uma Instituição sem fins lucrativos voltada para o ensino e a pesquisa em música. Com 72 anos de existência, tem se destacado por ser uma escola em que todas as tendências musicais convivem, divulgando a música e a sua importância na vida das pessoas e na cultura do país. Instituição pioneira na criação do primeiro curso de graduação em Musicoterapia no Brasil assim como na criação de mestrados em Educação Musical, Musicologia e Etnomusicologia.

Apenas sete casas compõem esse belo recanto da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Batizado em homenagem a Joaquim Luiz da Silva Souto, boticário da família real que ali morou em uma fazenda, o Largo do Boticário exibe telhados e fachadas coloniais, calçamento estilo pé-de-moleque, árvores centenárias e possui, ainda, o supremo privilégio de ter como vizinhos o Rio Carioca e um belo trecho de Mata Atlântica.

Em 1977, junto a Feira de Livros que acontecia no Campo de São Bento, uma vasta área verde dentro da cidade, alguns artesãos e um artista plástico começaram a expor os seus trabalhos e obras de artes.
Com a transferência de outro grupo (artesãos e artistas plásticos) que faziam parte de uma feira, coordenada por órgão da prefeitura (entre 1983/1987, no centro da cidade), para essa área, começavam as atividades da Feira de Artesanatos do Campo de São Bento. Passando por tantas mudanças, hoje ela comporta, entre artesãos e artistas plásticos, 307 barracas e painéis. Com a criação da área de alimentação, foram acrescidas mais 40 barracas.
