Fun Plex started here in Omaha, Neb in 1978. We started small with miniature golf, go-karts, and an arcade.
As the years passed by we have made many expansions and improvements. We built a new go-kart track, introduced a slick track, and subsequently built many more rides. These include bumper cars, bumper boats, and numerous kiddie rides.
The year 1984 saw many changes for Fun Plex. This is when we introduced the first elements of our waterpark. We started simply with a wave pool. A few years later we built twin 5-storey Typhoon water slides.
Today, we are continuing our expansions plans. In 2001 we added two new rides, the Balloon Ferris Wheel and the Kiddie Train. In 2002 we remodeled our midway into our new air-conditioned Pit Stop. 2003 saw the addition of both the Yo-Yo and the Chaos.. Fun Plex now consists of two water slides, a wave pool, a lazzy river, 5 kiddie rides, batting cages, a go-kart and slick track, bumper cars and boats, Tilt-A-Whirl, and a Ferris Wheel. We now see tens of thousands of guests come through our park every year and host numerous company picnics. In 2004 we are planning lots of great changes, and we hope you will be there with us to share in the exciting news ! ! !

And for those who want to kick back and relax, grab a tube, wade into one of two zero depth entry beaches, and take a float down the lazy river. Plenty of shade, reservable private cabanas, and a concession stand to satisfy all of your summertime cravings tops it all off. Water World, one of America's largest family waterparks, is located just 15 minutes north of downtown Denver, Colorado, on 64 beautifully landscaped acres. Water World is celebrating it's 26th year of operation.
We feature the biggest variety of attractions (42) in America, from Wally World for the tots, to Voyage to the Center of the Earth for the entire family. Water World has more family tube rides than any other park in America. Thrill rides are in abundance also, like the Red Line speed slide. Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public astronomy, a beloved civic gathering place, and one of southern California's most popular attractions. Inaugurado em 1934 com seus 27 andares, o Edifício América (nome que nunca se firmou) teve sua polêmica construção iniciada em 1922 – muitos estavam certos que o edifício iria ruir. Foi concebido pelo imigrante italiano Giuseppe Martinelli, que chegou ao Brasil um profissional humilde, açougueiro, e alcançou as mais altas posições financeiras, recebendo diversas homenagens.

Em estilo eclético, fortemente influenciado pelos estilos clássicos franceses Luís XV e XVI, o Palácio das Laranjeiras, também conhecido como Palácio Guanabara, é um dos maiores patrimônios arquitetônicos do povo do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Reformado, tornou-se a residência da Princesa Isabel e seu esposo, o Conde d'Eu, sendo conhecido a partir de então como Palácio Isabel. Entre 1912 e 1947 foi residência da família do Dr. Eduardo Guinle.. O palácio foi utilizado pelo presidente Getúlio Vargas como residência oficial durante o Estado Novo (1937-1945). Em 1956, passa a ser residência oficial dos Presidentes da República. Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira é o primeiro Presidente a residir no Laranjeiras. Em 1974, com a fusão dos antigos estados da Guanabara e do Rio de Janeiro, promovida pelo então Presidente Ernesto Geisel, o Palácio é cedido ao novo Estado do Rio de Janeiro para servir de residência oficial de seus Governadores

Construído em três anos, de 1936 a 1939, o prédio da ABI, destaca-se inclusive por ter sido nele utilizada pela primeira vez a solução apresentada pelo legendário Le Corbusier para o problema do excesso de luz - o “brise-soleil”, quebra-sol através de persianas de concreto na fachada.
O edifício-sede da ABI foi tombado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Estadual em 1965. Sua principal característica é a unidade, que dá a tônica do conjunto, tanto nas soluções plásticas quanto nas estruturais.
A história da fundação da ABI se confunde com a de seu perseverante idealizador Gustavo de Lacerda. Criada em 7 de abril de 1908, seu principal objetivo era assegurar à classe jornalística os direitos assistenciais e tornar-se um centro poderoso de ação. Segundo o próprio Lacerda, a Associação deveria ser um campo neutro em que se pudessem abrigar todos os trabalhadores da imprensa.
