Northlandz is a 16 acre world class attraction developed by Bruce and his wife Jean. Included in this complex is a doll museum, La Peep Doll House, a 2,000 pipe theater pipe organ (which Bruce plays) and art galleries throughout. It's true! Washington made his headquarters here at the Mansion during the fall of 1776. It was during this period that the General's troops forced a British retreat at the Battle of Harlem Heights. The house was built eleven years before the Revolution, in 1765, by British Colonel Roger Morris and his American wife, Mary Philipse. The breezy hilltop location proved an ideal location for the family's summer home. Known as Mount Morris, this northern Manhattan estate stretched from the Harlem to the Hudson Rivers and covered more than 130 acres. Loyal to the crown, the Morrises were eventually forced to return to England as a result of the American victory.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center is the nation's premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. We collect, restore and display historic aircraft and chronicle the origin and development of rotary wing aircraft. Each year the Museum hosts thousands of visitors, school groups, families and senior citizens. Tourists of all ages from the U.S and abroad come here to witness the history and the future of the helicopter.

A inclusão do Museu Casa de Portinari na Rede de Museus da Secretaria da Cultura do Estado deu-se através do Decreto de 08 de abril de 1970.

The Cameron Art Museum is committed to arts education, and presents exhibitions and public programs of both historical and contemporary significance. The Museum's permanent collection of fine arts, crafts and design includes work by artists of national and international significance, including works by North Carolina artists.

O local em que se instalou o MAE corresponde aos vestígios arquitetônicos do que foi o amplo e complexo edifício do Real Colégio dos Jesuítas, que incluía a atual Catedral Basílica. Construído, em sua maior parte, no século XVI, este exemplar único de arquitetura seiscentista/setecentista serviu como hospital militar após, a expulsão dos Jesuítas (1759), e mais tarde, ai se instalou a Escola de Cirurgia, fundada por Dom João VI, à sua chegada ao Brasil. Este conjunto arquitetônico foi modificado, em grande parte, inclusive com demolições, para se edificar um novo prédio, no final do século XIX. Após o incêndio ocorrido em 1905 as modificações arquitetônicas feitas por ocasião da reconstrução do prédio foram profundas, voltando este a abrigar a Faculdade de Medicina após a conclusão da reforma.

A visita ao Museu inicia-se no Centro de Recepção, destinado a orientar e informar os visitantes. Esta estação é o ponto de embarque do Trenzinho da Ciência, o início da aventura. Espaço de integração entre ciência, cultura e sociedade, o Museu da Vida tem por objetivo informar e educar em ciência, saúde e tecnologia de forma lúdica e criativa, através de exposições permanentes, atividades interativas, multimídias, teatro, vídeo e laboratórios. O Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo está sediado em uma área privilegiada do Parque do Ibirapuera, integrando a estrutura paisagística e arquitetônica projetada por Oscar Niemeyer, entre 1953 e 1954, na região central da cidade. O prédio, desenhado por Lina Bo Bardi, foi construído sob a marquise do parque por ocasião da 5ª Bienal de São Paulo, em 1959.

Criado em 1993, com recursos do programa de investimentos estratégicos do governo do estado de Santa Catarina, com a permanente participação do IPHAN, o Museu Nacional do Mar nasceu com a revitalização dos grandes armazéns da empresa Hoepcke, abandonados há mais de vinte anos. O local, que abriga grande diversidade de embarcações brasileiras foi revitalizado entre 2003 e 2004.

Inaugurado em Ouro Preto, em outubro de 1998, o Museu do Oratório apresenta uma magnífica coleção – única em todo o mundo – de 162 oratórios e 300 imagens dos séculos XVII ao XX. As peças do acervo foram doadas ao IPHAN (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional) pela colecionadora Angela Gutierrez e são genuinamente brasileiras, principalmente de Minas Gerais. Caracterizando-se pela diversidade de tipos, de tamanhos e de materiais, o acervo oferece detalhes valiosos da arquitetura, pintura, vestuário e costumes da época em que foram produzidos, permitindo uma verdadeira viagem antropológica pela história do Brasil.

“A Casa do Pontal é o maior e mais significativo museu de arte popular do país. O acervo é composto por 8.000 esculturas e modelagens feitas contemporaneamente por cerca de 200 artistas populares de todas as regiões brasileiras e recobre a produção feita em toda segunda metade do século XX. Segundo o International Council of Museums (ICOM), filiado à Unesco, a Casa do Pontal não é apenas um museu completo de Arte Popular Brasileira, mas um verdadeiro museu antropológico, único no país a permitir uma visão abrangente da vida e da cultura do homem brasileiro.” Aberto ao público de terça a domingo, das 9h30 às 17h. O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

A Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa tem sede na casa onde residiu o grande jurista e intelectual brasileiro entre 1895 e 1923, data de sua morte. Comprada pelo governo brasileiro em 1924, juntamente com a biblioteca, os arquivos e a propriedade intelectual das obras de Rui Barbosa, a casa foi aberta ao público como museu - o primeiro museu-casa do Brasil - em 1930.

O Museu do Açude situa-se na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, no coração da Floresta da Tijuca, numa área de 150 mil metros quadrados e tem o propósito de relacionar o patrimônio cultural ao natural. Sua sede no estilo neocolonial, cercada pela mata atlântica é a antiga residência de verão de Raymundo Ottoni de Castro Maya (1894-1968). Apresenta coleção de azulejos, painéis franceses, holandeses, espanhóis e portugueses dos séculos XVII ao XIX. Louça do Porto, fabricada a partir do século XIX em Portugal, além de exemplares raros de escultura chinesa, indiana e porcelanas de procedências diversas. O Museu ganhou destaque por ser o cenário externo da mansão da viúva Porcina, vivida pela atriz Regina Duarte na novela Roque Santeiro.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
