The Space Needle is a major landmark of the Pacific Northwest and is the symbol of the U.S. city of Seattle, Washington. Located on the grounds of Seattle Center, it was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators — 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. It is now privately owned. The Space Needle is a tower 184 m (605 feet) high and 42 m (138 feet) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude, and has 25 lightning rods on the roof to withstand lightning strikes. Source

In 1884, a wealthy widow named Sarah L. Winchester began a construction project of such magnitude that it was to occupy the lives of carpenters and craftsmen until her death thirty-eight years later. The Victorian mansion, designed and built by the Winchester Rifle heiress, is filled with so many unexplained oddities, that it has come to be known as the Winchester Mystery House.

Em 1977, junto a Feira de Livros que acontecia no Campo de São Bento, uma vasta área verde dentro da cidade, alguns artesãos e um artista plástico começaram a expor os seus trabalhos e obras de artes.
Com a transferência de outro grupo (artesãos e artistas plásticos) que faziam parte de uma feira, coordenada por órgão da prefeitura (entre 1983/1987, no centro da cidade), para essa área, começavam as atividades da Feira de Artesanatos do Campo de São Bento. Passando por tantas mudanças, hoje ela comporta, entre artesãos e artistas plásticos, 307 barracas e painéis. Com a criação da área de alimentação, foram acrescidas mais 40 barracas.

O Decreto de 12/08/1816 criando a Escola Real de Ciências, Artes e Ofícios implantou no Brasil a educação artística em caráter oficial. Em 05/11/1826 configurou-se a instalação definitiva da Academia Imperial das Belas Artes - como ficou conhecida a Escola Real - instituindo-se um sistema de ensino artístico que iria moldar de forma singular o desenvolvimento da arte brasileira. A partir de 08/11/1890, a antiga Academia Imperial foi transformada na Escola Nacional de Belas Antes. Em 1965 passou a se chamar Escola de Belas Artes incorporando-se a Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Petco Park is an open-air ballpark in downtown San Diego, California, USA. It opened in 2004, replacing Qualcomm Stadium as the home park of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres. Considerada uma joia da arquitetura setecentista, a Igreja Imperial Irmandade da Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro é um dos maiores patrimônios da arquitetura colonial religiosa brasileira. Construída no centro do adro, é formada por dois octógonos irregulares, alongados e interligados, antecedidos pela base quadrada da torre sineira, cujo pé lhe serve de pórtico. Os trabalhos ornamentais em talha estão no altar-mor, altares da nave, tribunas e coro, e representam a transição entre o final do estilo rococó e o neoclássico. Sua autoria é atribuída ao Mestre Valentim de Almeida, expoente da azulejaria joanina , e formam um dos conjuntos mais importantes do Brasil. A devoção a Nossa Senhora da Glória surgiu no início do século XVII, alguns anos após a fundação da cidade, quando no ano de 1608, um certo Ayres colocou uma pequena imagem da Virgem numa gruta natural existente no morro.

O Serviço de Documentação da Marinha é o resultado da evolução, mais que secular, iniciada com a criação da Biblioteca da Marinha. Esta teve como embrião o Depósito de Escritos Marítimos da Real Academia dos Guardas-Marinha de Portugal, criado em 1802, e transferido para o Brasil, com a Academia, em 1808. Em 1846, foi criada a Biblioteca da Marinha. Parque Prefeito Ferraz nome oficial do Campo, pertenceu aos Benedetinos do Mosteiro de São Bento, que adquiriram as terras em 1697, de Manoel Rodrigues Raimundo, saldando a dívida de forma peculiar: em gado advindo de Campos. Em 1840/41, com o Plano de Arruamento seus limites foram definidos como o que conhecemos hoje. Em 1882/83, o Parque foi aterrado e no Início deste século, foi urbanizado. Abriga o Centro Cultural Paschol Carlos Magno, uma Feira de Artesanato, exposições e inúmeras atrações.

O Santuário da Penha conta com uma grande infra-estrutura que vem sendo melhorada incansavelmente para acolher a todos os Romeiros que sempre comparecem em grande quantidade, principalmente na época de festa. O Santuário da Penha fica em uma enorme e belíssima área verde, com uma localização de fácil acesso, seja pela Linha Vermelha, Linha Amarela ou Avenida Brasil. Para atender os romeiros, o Santuário da Penha conta com a comodidade de bebedouros, lanchonete e diversos banheiros, além de outras diversas instalações. Para aqueles que não desejam subir ou descer os 382 degraus da escadaria principal, o acesso do pátio até a Igreja pode ser feito através de um novíssimo bondinho, com capacidade para transportar cerca de 500 pessoas por hora.
