Primeiro prédio modernista do Rio de Janeiro, formado por um bloco de 14 andares, o Ministério da Educação e Saúde, projeto inspirado por Le Corbisier, passou a ser conhecido como o prédio do MEC, hoje Palácio da Cultura Gustavo Capanema, uma homenagem ao então Ministro da Pasta do Governa Vargas que ordenou sua construção. Inaugurado em 1945, congregou os melhores representantes da nova geração de arquitetos, pintores e escultores, como Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Cândido Portinari, responsável pelos painés e os azulejos decorativos do prédio, Bruno Giorgi e Roberto Burle Marx, responsável pelo aspecto paisagístico. Na edificação são elementos de detaque, o prédio solto no centro do quarteirão com as pessoas cruzando-o diagonalmente, o pilotis de dupla altura, o átrio de paredes de travertino, a escada helicoidal, a estatuária acrescentada ao passeio e as fachadas compostas de vidro e de brise-soleil, dispositivo regulável para entrada do sol.

The L.I.C. Community Boathouse is a boathouse located in Long Island City, New York. The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is located in Flushing, in the New York City borough of Queens and has been the home of the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament played every year in August and September. According to the United States Tennis Association, the center is the largest public tennis facility in the world with 22 courts inside the facility and 11 more in the adjoining park. Fundado em 1932, o Jockey Club Brasileiro teve como primeiro presidente Linneo de Paula Machado, que foi o responsável pela construção do Hipódromo da Gávea, a maior obra da cidade na época. Lá é realizado anualmente o Grande Prêmio Brasil, a prova de maior expressão do turfe nacional, também famosa pela elegância dos trajes dos visitantes da festa. O Jockey Club também possui uma sede social no Centro do Rio de Janeiro, localizada num prédio de 12 andares, projeto assinado pelo arquiteto Lúcio Costa. As dependências são amplas e espaçosas, contando com 363 salas para escritórios, sete lojas, um auditório servido por elevadores especiais, 13 andares de estacionamento para 800 carros. No 11º e 12º andares, os jardins são de Burle Marx e os interiores do arquiteto Jorge Hue. Atividades: piscina, hidroginástica, saunas, massagiata, estética, quadra poliesportiva, ginástica.

Fun Plex started here in Omaha, Neb in 1978. We started small with miniature golf, go-karts, and an arcade.
As the years passed by we have made many expansions and improvements. We built a new go-kart track, introduced a slick track, and subsequently built many more rides. These include bumper cars, bumper boats, and numerous kiddie rides.
The year 1984 saw many changes for Fun Plex. This is when we introduced the first elements of our waterpark. We started simply with a wave pool. A few years later we built twin 5-storey Typhoon water slides.
Today, we are continuing our expansions plans. In 2001 we added two new rides, the Balloon Ferris Wheel and the Kiddie Train. In 2002 we remodeled our midway into our new air-conditioned Pit Stop. 2003 saw the addition of both the Yo-Yo and the Chaos.. Fun Plex now consists of two water slides, a wave pool, a lazzy river, 5 kiddie rides, batting cages, a go-kart and slick track, bumper cars and boats, Tilt-A-Whirl, and a Ferris Wheel. We now see tens of thousands of guests come through our park every year and host numerous company picnics. In 2004 we are planning lots of great changes, and we hope you will be there with us to share in the exciting news ! ! !

Peter Dubacher started the Berkshire Bird Paradise, a certified not for profit company back in 1972 as a "labor of love." It has grown into one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the country. The sanctuary has evolved into an outdoors educational institution, where students on field trips with their parents or on college internship programs can learn about birds. The sanctuary is also a small botanical garden with hundreds of plants and exotic flowers .We are constantly improving our grounds, with the help of great volunteers.

The particular cleft is the valley and brook between Emerson and Grymes Hills. This valley was deepened by the glacier 20,000 years ago. The brook which ran through the valley originated in Clove Swamp and ran to the Kill Van Kull. The damming of this brook over the years created the different lakes and ponds in the area.

One of the worlds most visited monuments is that of Christ the Redeemer, the statue that stands atop the Corcovado Mountain. Journey up to the statue via the cog train and marvel at the scenery along the way. From the top, you will enjoy panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro.

Em 1913, deu-se início à construção da Catedral como é hoje, elaborada pelo alemão Maximilian Emil Hehl, professor de Arquitetura da Escola Politécnica. O templo foi inaugurado em 25 de janeiro de 1954, na comemoração do 4º Centenário da cidade de São Paulo, ainda sem as duas torres principais.
A primeira versão da Igreja foi instalada ali em 1591, quando o cacique Tibiriçá escolheu o terreno onde seria o primeiro templo da cidade construído em taipa de pilão (parede feita de barro e palha socados estruturados em toras).
Em 1745, a "velha Sé", como era chamada, foi elevada à categoria de Catedral. Por isso, neste mesmo ano, inicia-se a edificação da segunda matriz da Sé no mesmo local da anterior. Ao lado dela, em meados do século XIII levanta-se a Igreja de São Pedro da Pedra. Em 1911, os dois templos foram demolidos para dar espaço ao alargamento da Praça da Sé e, finalmente, à versão atual da Catedral.

Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and the marvelous story of what God is doing through this 19 story cross located on Interstate 40 at Groom, Texas. Construction of the cross frame was done in two shops in Pampa, Texas by more than 100 welders and erected in July of 1995. Truly, all things are possible for those who believe.

O Serviço de Documentação da Marinha é o resultado da evolução, mais que secular, iniciada com a criação da Biblioteca da Marinha. Esta teve como embrião o Depósito de Escritos Marítimos da Real Academia dos Guardas-Marinha de Portugal, criado em 1802, e transferido para o Brasil, com a Academia, em 1808. Em 1846, foi criada a Biblioteca da Marinha. Com um acervo de aproximadamente cem mil volumes, entre livros, folhetos, periódicos e mapas, a Biblioteca da Marinha é especializada nas áreas de História Naval, História Geral e do Brasil e Cartografia.

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. O freqüentador dispõe ainda de restaurante, casa de chá, bombonière e loja de produtos culturais.

Considerada uma joia da arquitetura setecentista, a Igreja Imperial Irmandade da Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro é um dos maiores patrimônios da arquitetura colonial religiosa brasileira. Construída no centro do adro, é formada por dois octógonos irregulares, alongados e interligados, antecedidos pela base quadrada da torre sineira, cujo pé lhe serve de pórtico. Os trabalhos ornamentais em talha estão no altar-mor, altares da nave, tribunas e coro, e representam a transição entre o final do estilo rococó e o neoclássico. Sua autoria é atribuída ao Mestre Valentim de Almeida, expoente da azulejaria joanina , e formam um dos conjuntos mais importantes do Brasil. A devoção a Nossa Senhora da Glória surgiu no início do século XVII, alguns anos após a fundação da cidade, quando no ano de 1608, um certo Ayres colocou uma pequena imagem da Virgem numa gruta natural existente no morro.

Com aproximadamente 2.700m de extensão, significa ''secagem de peixe'' ou ''peixe a secar''. Piratininga é dividida em duas praias. O trecho maior, chamado ''praião'', com pequenas ondas, areia e águas claras, possui em toda a orla quiosques especializados em frutos do mar e petiscos. Contrastando com ela, a ''prainha'' (com a famosa Pedra da Baleia).
