The birth of a company small or large represents a very passionate event and maybe a little romantic too. This is how Ceriello Fine Foods was born back in 1973. With the tradition of a farmer, and the respect for the product of the mother earth, Andrea Ceriello found A. Ceriello Corporation, (Ceriello Fine Foods). The purpose of Ceriello Fine Foods was to provide an array of fine foods and food products to the most esigent of his clients, maintaining a delicate balance of a natural product. Ceriello Fine Foods started as a Long Island north shore Italian specialty shop and grew to be one of the region leaders.

In 2006, we opened the South Village and SoHo Real Food Markets in New York City for farmers, artisans, and purveyors of regional and traditional foods. What is Real Food? At a properly-run farmers' market, all vendors are producers. A Real Food Market is more like markets in Europe. There are farmers and bakers, but also food artisans and purveyors, or merchants. Second, the Real Food Region is larger than at a traditional farmers' market. We forage in the Northeast: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Oh, and you might find other goodies you don't see at a true farmers' market, such as a cup of hot coffee (locally roasted) or hot chocolate with local milk. The experiment was a success and we'd like to do it again, but in the summer of 2007 we have too many other things to do. Stay tuned.

Tom was one of the strengthening forces in making Miggy's a success. In August of 2003, Tom opened Beyar's Market in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island. It started as a small deli under a different name and is growing into a successful supermarket and catering business. Tom Beyar has been at this location for over 20 years, only growing to serve the needs of the community.

Met Foodmarkets have been serving consumers in New York City and surrounding communities for more than 40 years, and there are currently more than 80 Met Foodmarkets located in the New York metropolitan area. Headquartered on an 11 acre facility in New York City, Western Beef operates their own meat, grocery and produce warehouses. The warehouses carry both national and private label brands. Operating these warehouses, allows Western Beef to buy truckloads direct from manufacturers and farmers, cutting out the middle man and then passing these savings to our customers in the form of lower prices.
