Manhattan Language Courses are taught by carefully selected, university trained professional language instructors who are always native speakers of the language they teach. Our courses are designed to give students the language skills they need to communicate effectively at work and in daily life. We offer group courses at all levels of American English from beginning to advanced. Each student is given a placement test to determine their appropriate level.
New York Language Center is certified as an English Language School by the New York State Education Department. It is also authorized by the U.S. Department of Immigration to enroll non-immigrant foreign students. New York Language Center is a member of NAFSA (Association of International Educators), TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), and new in 2008 we are now a member of ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organisations) and FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations).
Services include instruction in all major European and Asian languages and upon request lesser-studied languages ranging from Albanian to Zulu. The Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) is a New York based non-profit organization founded in 1975 for the purpose of promoting the study of the Italian language and culture within the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The IACE program is made possible primarly through an Italian Government grant and operates under the supervision of the Consulate General of Italy in New York.
Dedicated to promoting and sustaining Italian language education in the United States and supporting the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) program in Italian Language and Culture. The Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation qualified by the Internal Revenue Service to receive tax deductible contributions.

Learning takes place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All classes are taught by qualified teachers in accordance with high standards of excellence. The youngest students learn through play, while the curriculum for the older students emphasizes oral and written communication, grammar and spelling.
The Intensive Academic Program is an 18-hour per week course designed to help students build confidence and achieve fluency and accuracy in English in preparation for further study in undergraduate and graduate level programs in English or for professional use in the United States or abroad. Classes are offered Monday through Friday in the mornings, afternoons or evenings.
Group classes are different than those at other language schools. Once started, classes are ongoing and continue to meet at the scheduled time and will advance as long as the minimum enrollment is maintained.
