Localizada no coração financeiro e comercial da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, a Universidade Gama Filho, Unidade Centro-Candelária, dispõe de mais de cinco mil metros quadrados, onde o estudante pode desfrutar de uma infra-estrutura adequada e favorável ao seu melhor desenvolvimento. A Unidade Candelária é divida em salas de orientação pedagógica, biblioteca, secretaria, espaços equipados para videoconferências, laboratórios de informática, auditório com 130 lugares e um anexo para recepções e eventos.

FACHA surgiu em 6 de dezembro de 1971, quando o ensino superior era dominado pelas universidades públicas, com poucas vagas para atender ao grande número de pessoas que queriam estudar, e o governo não apresentava verbas para construir mais universidades.
Em meio a uma época de repressão política e censura da imprensa, o professor Hélio Alonso decidiu dar início à primeira faculdade particular de Comunicação Social, com a filosofia de formar profissionais capazes de "pensar" e "agir" e com o intuito de democratizar o ensino de comunicação no Rio de Janeiro. Furman University is the oldest, largest and most selective private institution in South Carolina. The Birmingham School of Law was founded when Judge Hugh A. Locke began tutoring young men for the bar admission test in 1915. Judge Locke was a prominent attorney, Judge of the Chancery Court, and President of the Birmingham Bar Association. As the number of young men grew, classes began to meet at Birmingham Southern College, where Judge Locke was a Trustee for 55 years.

New York Law School, one of the oldest independent law schools in the United States, was founded in 1891 by the faculty, students, and alumni of Columbia College Law School led by their founding dean, Theodore Dwight, a major figure in the history of legal education. Founded in 1906 and operating for decades as Mississippi Woman's College, William Carey College was renamed in honor of the founder of modern missions in 1954 when the school became coeducational. In 2006, the College's board of trustees renamed the institution William Carey University.

New England College is a four-year, private, liberal arts college located in Henniker, New Hampshire. New England College offers undergraduate, graduate and professional programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Education and Master of Science.

Baruch College is part of a tradition that dates back more than 150 years to the founding, in 1847, of the Free Academy, the very first free public institution of higher education in the nation. Established in 1919 as City College’s School of Business and Civic Administration, the school was renamed in 1953 in honor of Bernard M. Baruch—statesman, financier, and devoted alumnus. Founded in April 1815 by Timothy Alden, Allegheny is the 32nd oldest college in the nation and the oldest college in continuous existence west of the Appalachian Mountains. A UniCarioca nasceu em 1990, sob o nome de Faculdade Carioca de Informática. Começou pequena, em um prédio de Botafogo, com apenas duas turmas de 35 alunos do curso de Tecnologia em Processamento de Dados. Aos poucos, fomos crescendo e ampliando nossa oferta de cursos. Em 1995, desenvolvemos a primeira Universidade Virtual do país, a UNIVIR. Neste ano também começamos com os cursos de Administração, Comunicação Social e Desenho Industrial. Em 1998, foi a vez do curso de Marketing e, no ano seguinte, Ciência da Computação.
Em 2001 foram criados o NUPEC (Núcleo de Projetos Especiais) e o LUPA (Laboratório UniCarioca de Pesquisas Aplicadas), projetos acadêmicos que promovem trabalhos de pesquisa e capacitação profissional. Hoje, são mais de 4.500 alunos que constituem o nosso corpo discente, da graduação em quatro unidades: Rio Comprido, Méier, Bento Ribeiro e Jacarepaguá.

Todas as suas ações baseiam-se em três pontos fundamentais: ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Com estrutura democrática e autônoma, ela não está vinculada a confissões religiosas, órgãos públicos ou agremiações e sua arrecadação é reinvestida na própria instituição. Os professores, junto aos alunos e funcionários, escolhem os reitores através de eleição direta a cada quatro anos.
