Bonanzaville USA is named after the Bonanza Farms that dotted this region in the late nineteenth century as a result of Northern Pacific Railroad's marketing efforts. The NPRR lobbied for large-scale, showcase farms of 1,000 acres or more to advertise the economic potential of the land on either side of the Northern Pacific's route, in particular the land along the Minnesota, Dakota Territory border known as the Red River Valley. They believed these enormous farms would attract people to the Midwest and in return ensure financial support for the railroad. They were right.
The Cass County Historical Society was started in 1954 by the Daughters of the Dakota Pioneers in a basement room at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. Later the museum was moved to Minard Hall at NDSU and began to grow with the help of its volunteers.

O painel decorativo do plenário do Palácio Tiradentes foi executado por Eliseu Visconti em 1926 e representa a assinatura da primeira Constituição Republicana de 1891. O Serviço de Documentação da Marinha é o resultado da evolução, mais que secular, iniciada com a criação da Biblioteca da Marinha. Esta teve como embrião o Depósito de Escritos Marítimos da Real Academia dos Guardas-Marinha de Portugal, criado em 1802, e transferido para o Brasil, com a Academia, em 1808. Em 1846, foi criada a Biblioteca da Marinha. Com um acervo de aproximadamente cem mil volumes, entre livros, folhetos, periódicos e mapas, a Biblioteca da Marinha é especializada nas áreas de História Naval, História Geral e do Brasil e Cartografia.

A Usina Hidrelétrica de Itaipu, a maior em operação no mundo, é um empreendimento binacional desenvolvido pelo Brasil e pelo Paraguai no Rio Paraná. A potência instalada da Usina é de 12.600 MW (megawatts), com 18 unidades geradoras de 700 MW cada. A produção recorde de 2000 - 93,4 bilhões de quilowatts-hora (KWh) - foi responsável pelo suprimento de 95% da energia elétrica consumida no Paraguai e 24% de toda a demanda do mercado brasileiro.

Uma Área de preservação ambiental (APA) do município, localizado no alto do morro da Viração, numa altitude de 270 m. No local existe uma fonte natural. Possui um mirante e dele pode-se ter uma visão panorâmica das Lagoas de Piratininga e Itaipu; das Praias de Piratininga, Itaipu e Camboinhas, dos bairros de São Francisco, Jurujuba, Charitas e Icaraí entre outros, da Baía de Guanabara, em toda a sua extensão e do mar aberto, até onde a vista consegue alcançar.

Suas águas são calmas, com areia clara e fina. Localiza-se numa área residencial e conta com calçadão em toda a orla, que é muito usado para passeios, jogging e ciclismo, ideal também, para a prática de esportes a vela.
