The landmark tavern at Five Points in Mercerville was built in the mid-1700s. The exact date is not known, but it is rumored that George Washington and his troops passed by the tavern on their way to the “Battle of Princeton”. In later years, the tavern was owned by many prominent area families and can lay claim to the oldest liquor license issued in Hamilton Township.

The Boathouse Bar and Grill has been in operation since 1998 and is owned by Tim and Matt Harmon.
