The orchestra performs more than 200 concerts each year, with its main subscription series augmented by pops series, family concerts, and a full summer schedule including classical, pops, and free parks concerts. Morristown National Historical Park is nationally significant as the site of the 1779-80 winter encampment of the Continental Army under General George Washington. Few places evoke the spirit of patriotism and independence, represent individual and collective sacrifice, or demonstrate the resolve, tenacity and determination of the people of the United States to be free as does Morristown. The historic landscapes, structures, objects, and archeological and natural resources at Morristown are tangible links to one of the most defining events in our nation's history. Here the Continental Army under Washington's leadership emerged as a cohesive and disciplined fighting force. The Morristown experience is fundamental to both American history, and remains a source of inspiration for Americans and the world.

For two hundred years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people. A pouco mais de 80 quilômetros do Rio, a pequena Sacra Família do Tinguá, no município de Engenheiro Paulo de Frontin, vive-se um clima de autêntica descontração, resultante das peripécias e traquinagens dos hóspedes do local; crianças alegres e felizes se divertindo a valer. A razão de tanto barulho se chama Kinderland (terra de criança em alemão), a mais tradicional colônia de férias fluminense.
A instituição iniciou suas atividades em 1952, com o trabalho de um grupo de senhoras judias que acolhia órfãos de guerra, entretanto, o lugar não se caracteriza como instituição religiosa.
A palavra de ordem é confraternização, valorizar ao máximo a convivência em grupo.
Os acampamentos livram as crianças do controle familiar e abrem um mundo novo para elas. O primeiro grito de independência. Longe dos olhares paternos, as crianças convivem com pessoas diferentes, tomam decisões sozinhas, aprendem a ser disciplinadas e crescem em todos os sentidos.
São 750 mil metros quadrados de área verde cercado de montanhas e belas paisagens comportando grupos de até 170 pessoas. A colônia oferece acomodações para dormir, refeitório, piscina, quadra de esporte, lago, gincanas, festas dançantes e peças de teatro. O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

O XKart é um grupo de kart amador do Rio de Janeiro, fundado em 2003, que realiza campeonatos de kart indoor. Apesar do que possa parecer, o termo "kart indoor", não se refere a competições em pista coberta. Esse termo atualmente é sinônimo de kart de aluguel, ou seja, karts alugados e mantidos pelos próprios kartódromos, independentemente de a pista ser coberta ou não

Seu nome, na língua Tupi significa "água que sai do meio das pedras". Possui restaurantes de frutos do mar, todos na areia da praia, de onde se pode apreciar o mais belo pôr-do-sol da cidade. O canal de ligação da lagoa de Itaipu com o oceano, é o limite natural entre a praia de Itaipu e a de Camboinhas.
