Grand Central Terminal turns 100 in 2013 and the celebration is starting the party early with the 11th annual Holiday Train Show! In a brand new layout by Lionel, model Metro-North and New York Central trains depart from a miniature Grand Central on their way North on a 34' long, two-level "O" gauge layout. Vintage model trains from the Museum's collection are on display joined by stunning New York Central railroad posters harkening back to Grand Central's heyday as the nexus of long distance and commuter train travel. Grand Central has become a midtown destination for five exquisite restaurants and cocktail lounges, 20 casual international eateries in the lower level Dining Concourse, gourmet foods from the Grand Central Market and the 50 unique specialty shops throughout the concourses, all in to addition to transportation.

One of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, with a current seating capacity of just under 18,000, the Hollywood Bowl has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922, and, in 1991 gave its name to a resident ensemble that has filled a special niche in the musical life of Southern California, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

O Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian foi criado em 11 de março de 1971 e recebeu este nome em homenagem à instituição cultural portuguesa sediada em Lisboa, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. O Parque Guinle é um parque público localizado numa área arborizada de cerca de 30 mil metros quadrados no entorno do Palácio Laranjeiras, residência do governador do Rio de Janeiro. O Parque foi no originalmente construído como jardins do palacete da família Guinle erguido na década de 20. A partir de 1940, o Parque Guinle passou a pertencer ao Governo Federal e foi objeto de um projeto de urbanização com a construção de um conjunto de edifícios residenciais projetados pelo arquiteto Lucio Costa, concebidos conforme os princípios propostos pelo arquiteto francês Le Corbusier, que serviram de ensaio para o padrão residencial das superquadras da capital do país, Brasília.

A Fundação Planetário do Rio é um centro de pesquisa e divulgação da ciência Astronomia e de ciências afins. Popular e lúdico, o Planetário do Rio oferece aos seus visitantes cursos, exposições temporárias, exposição permanente com 56 experimentos interativos, sessões de cúpula, visitação guiada ao museu com monitores e observações do céu semanais. A Fundação Planetário, vinculada à Secretaria das Culturas da Prefeitura do Rio, está situada no bairro da Gávea, Zona Sul do Rio de Janeiro.

O prédio oficial da Casa Porto das Artes Plásticas pertencente à Prefeitura Municipal de Vitória - Secretaria Municipal de Cultura por um acordo através de regime de comodato com a Marinha do Brasil - Capitania dos Portos do Espírito Santo, foi construído em 1903 para servir de residência ao casal Dr. Manoel Silvino Monjardim e D. Ursulina Guaraná Monjardim. Filho de Alpheu Adelpho Monjardim de Andrade e Almeida, o Barão de Monjardim; Dr. Manoel Silvino Monjardim nasceu em Vitória/ES e foi um clínico de grande reputação em todo o estado, foi por muitos anos médico da Estrada de Ferro Vitória Minas.

No Boulevard Olímpico do Parque Madureira é um live site dos Jogos Olímpicos, onde a população pode curtir os Jogos Rio 2016 com muitos shows, atividades esportivas e culturais, além de acompanhar a transmissão oficial dos jogos por meio de um telão, instalado em cima do palco.

O Observatório Nacional foi criado oficialmente por D. Pedro I em 15 de outubro de 1827. Entre suas finalidades estava a orientação e estudos geográficos do território brasileiro e de ensino da navegação. Entretanto, segundo o Padre Serafim Leite, em 1730, os jesuítas instalaram um observatório no Morro do Castelo, na cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
O Observatório Nacional, atualmente, tem a missão de realizar pesquisa e desenvolvimento em Astronomia, Geofísica e Metrologia em Tempo e Freqüência, formar pesquisadores em seus cursos de pós-graduação, capacitar profissionais, coordenar projetos e atividades nacionais nestas áreas e gerar, manter e disseminar a Hora Legal Brasileira.

Tudo começou em 1945, quando os caminhões pau-de-arara, vindos de vários estados do Nordeste, chegavam ao Campo de São Cristóvão trazendo retirantes nordestinos para trabalhar na construção civil, onde já tinham vaga garantida.
O encontro dos recém-chegados com parentes e outros conterrâneos era animado com música e comida nordestinas, dando origem à Feira de São Cristóvão. Durante 58 anos, a tradicional Feira permaneceu no Campo de São Cristóvão, debaixo das árvores. Em 2003, as barracas foram transferidas para dentro do antigo Pavilhão, que foi reformado pela Prefeitura do Rio e transformado no Centro Municipal Luiz Gonzaga de Tradições Nordestinas. Hoje, a Feira de São Cristóvão tem boa infra-estrutura de limpeza e segurança, com banheiros públicos e estacionamento. São cerca de 700 barracas fixas, que oferecem as várias modalidades da cultura nordestina: culinária, artesanato, trios e bandas de forró, dança, cantores e poetas populares, repente e literatura de cordel.

Criado pela Prefeitura do rio em 1979, com área de 30,8 hectares, o Parque possui esculturas dispostas sobre o relevo natural do terreno, em recantos paisagisticamentes tratados com espécies ornamentais singelas, que se harmonizam às obras de arte. Possui uma trilha que leva ao Pico do Sacopã, de onde é possível contemplar a bela vista da Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.

Com 2.600m, é uma extensão da própria Praia de Itaipu. Suas águas são transparentes e esverdeadas, e sua areia clara e fina. Recanto pitoresco, é muito procurado pelos amantes da pesca de arremesso; pelos velejadores e wind-surfistas.

O Porto Maravilha é um projeto de recuperação da infraestrutura urbana, dos transportes, do meio ambiente e dos patrimônios histórico e cultural da Região Portuária do Rio de Janeiro. No centro da reurbanização está a melhoria das condições habitacionais e a atração de novos moradores para a área de 5 milhões de metros quadrados(m²). A chegada de grandes empresas, os novos incentivos fiscais e a prestação de serviços públicos de qualidade estimulam o crescimento da população e da economia. Projeções de adensamento demográfico indicam salto dos atuais 32 mil para 100 mil habitantes em 10 anos na região que engloba na íntegra os bairros do Santo Cristo, Gamboa, Saúde e trechos do Centro, Caju, Cidade Nova e São Cristóvão.
