Ursulina Guaraná Monjardim. Filho de Alpheu Adelpho Monjardim de Andrade e Almeida, o Barão de Monjardim; Dr. Manoel Silvino Monjardim nasceu em Vitória/ES e foi um clínico de grande reputação em todo o estado, foi por muitos anos médico da Estrada de Ferro Vitória Minas.

Historic Richmond Town is a living history museum located in Staten Island, New York. The museum features over 30 historical structures, including a colonial-era courthouse, a one-room schoolhouse, and a variety of homes and businesses that were once located throughout Staten Island. Visitors can experience what life was like in the past through interactive exhibits, tours, and living history demonstrations. The museum is also home to the Staten Island Historical Society, which is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Staten Island and its residents. The society's collections include artifacts, documents, and photographs that provide a glimpse into the lives of the people who lived on Staten Island throughout history.

Stretch out on the bunks where the sailors slept. Climb into the 16” gun turret and learn how the projectiles were loaded.

Children and adults alike will love the vast amount of knowledge and beauty while exploring the stars in this awesome environment. 3-D models and vivid colors are not in short abundance here. School field trips are welcome; planning in advance is required. A wealth of educational knowledge is available through the website for teachers, parents and children. With a special section of interactive activities for children, you can’t go wrong learning about all that this Manhattan planetarium has to offer. A virtual joy ride through the universe with stops along the way to learn about the wonders of the Galaxies, a few hours can easily be spent just walking around the floors. In addition to the star/sky show, the exhibits are a joy to behold. From real meteorites, to scales that bring home the effect of gravity on other planets, to historic photos, all will enjoy.

On Monday, April 30, 2012, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Port Authority will mark a major milestone in the construction of One World Trade Center with the installation of steel columns that will make the skyscraper the tallest building in New York. When the columns are put in place, the building will officially surpass the height of the Empire State Building, which currently is the tallest structure in New York City.

The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge that connects the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. It spans the Narrows, a body of water that separates the two boroughs, and is named after the explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who was the first European to enter New York Harbor in 1524. The bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann, who was also the chief engineer of the George Washington Bridge, and was completed in 1964. At the time of its completion, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world with a main span of 4,260 feet. The bridge has six lanes of traffic on the upper level and three on the lower level, and is a major transportation link for commuters and commercial vehicles. The bridge also offers a spectacular view of the New York City skyline and the harbor. The bridge's opening ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Robert Moses, the powerful NYC Parks commissioner and urban planner who had pushed for the construction of the bridge. The bridge is considered as an engineering marvel and a significant transportation link in the New York City.

This botanical gardens is the product of three extraordinary visionaries: landscaping architect Fredrick Law Olmsted, architects Lord & Burnham and botanist / plant-explorer John F. Cowell.
In 1985, the front entrance portico was renovated to reproduce the original design and the exhibits in the front houses were replaced. In 1990-96 the Shrub Garden was restored by Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, County staff at the Gardens and the Society.

O Decreto de 12/08/1816 criando a Escola Real de Ciências, Artes e Ofícios implantou no Brasil a educação artística em caráter oficial. Em 05/11/1826 configurou-se a instalação definitiva da Academia Imperial das Belas Artes - como ficou conhecida a Escola Real - instituindo-se um sistema de ensino artístico que iria moldar de forma singular o desenvolvimento da arte brasileira. A partir de 08/11/1890, a antiga Academia Imperial foi transformada na Escola Nacional de Belas Antes. Em 1965 passou a se chamar Escola de Belas Artes incorporando-se a Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

At the beginning of the 2009 Major League Baseball season the new Yankee Stadium opened its doors when the Yankees hosted a workout day in front of fans from the Bronx community. The first game at this brand new ballpark was a pre-season exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs, played on April 3, 2009, which the Yankees won 7-4. The new Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx, across the street from the original Yankee Stadium. It is built on a 24 acre area and has a price tag of $1.5 billion, which makes it not only the most expensive baseball stadium ever built but also the third-most expensive stadium of any kind.
Have the time of your life when you participate on the Yankee Inside Experience program, where fans are treated to a game day like never before. Guests attending the program are provided with an opportunity to meet with a player on the Yankees current roster followed by a guided stadium tour and buffet lunch.

In a brand new layout by Lionel, model Metro-North and New York Central trains depart from a miniature Grand Central on their way North on a 34' long, two-level "O" gauge layout. Vintage model trains from the Museum's collection are on display joined by stunning New York Central railroad posters harkening back to Grand Central's heyday as the nexus of long distance and commuter train travel. Grand Central has become a midtown destination for five exquisite restaurants and cocktail lounges, 20 casual international eateries in the lower level Dining Concourse, gourmet foods from the Grand Central Market and the 50 unique specialty shops throughout the concourses, all in to addition to transportation.
Grand Central has also transformed itself into a venue for ongoing public events. Throughout the year, Vanderbilt Hall, the Terminal's 12,000 square foot former Main Waiting Room, is the site for ongoing free promotions and entertainment ranging from tennis exhibits to the annual Holiday Fair which brings 72 craftsmen, artisans and international importers to the Terminal selling an outstanding array of merchandise for holiday gifts.

O Instituto Ciência Hoje (ICH) é uma organização social de interesse público sem fins lucrativos vinculada à Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC).
O site Ciência Hoje On-line é uma iniciativa pioneira de divulgação científica na internet brasileira. Além de disponibilizar parte do conteúdo das publicações do ICH, o site publica notícias exclusivas atualizadas diariamente que oferecem ao leitor uma cobertura dinâmica da atualidade científica no Brasil e no mundo.
Em 2007, foi lançado, em parceria com o Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, o livro Física Hoje - Uma aventura pela natureza: dos átomos ao universo, que reúne 11 artigos escritos por renomados pesquisadores brasileiros e originalmente publicados na revista Ciência Hoje ao longo de 2005, em comemoração ao Ano Mundial da Física.
O ICH atua também na divulgação científica em meios audiovisuais: o Instituto promoveu a realização do programa de televisão Tome Ciência, uma série semanal que abordou de forma acessível temas de ciência e tecnologia.. Em outubro de 2004, o ICH se uniu à Rede Globo na campanha Ciência Vale a Pena.

As grandes cidades do mundo têm uma grande orquestra. Com o Rio de Janeiro não podia ser diferente. A Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, com seus 63 anos de atividade ininterrupta é a marca do Brasil e da nossa cidade. Em 2008, uma nova sede de 87 mil m2 na Barra da Tijuca, uma antiga aspiração da Instituição, abrigará a OSB e receberá o nome de Cidade da Música Roberto Marinho, o mais ousado projeto em torno da música sendo construído no país. Realização da Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, o projeto conta com a parceria da Fundação Roberto Marinho e é assinado pelo francês Christian de Portzamparc, autor da aclamada Cite de la Musique, de Paris. Roberto Minczuk, é o diretor artístico e regente titular da OSB e da Filarmônica de Calgary. Já regeu as Filarmônicas de Nova York, Los Angeles, Israel e Roterdam; as orquestras da Filadélfia, Nacional da França, National Simphony e Minnesota, Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, entre outras. Na Europa regeu as Filarmônica de Londres, Hoslo, Hallé, Nacional de Lyon e Royal National Scottish.

O Palácio do Itamaraty, de grande valor histórico e artístico é uma construção de 1851, autoria de Francisco José da Rocha, Conde de Itamarati. Foi sede do governo republicano de 1889 a 1898 e sede do Ministério das Relações Exteriores de 1899 a 1970. Os jardins e lago internos são de autoria de Jacinto Rebelo, como também o projeto do edifício principal do palácio, em estilo neoclássico, simétrico e de nobres proporções. Abriga, hoje, o Museu Histórico e Diplomático, Arquivo Histórico e Mapoteca. A edificação é o 8º prédio tombado pelo Patrimônio Histórico no país. Funciona no Palácio Itamaraty, a mais completa biblioteca de referência das Nações Unidas no Brasil, com documentos sobre a Organização internacional. A Biblioteca do Centro de Informação da ONU no Rio de Janeiro possui mais de 15 mil livros e 300 títulos de periódicos a disposição dos usuários, além de folhetos e material informativo.

A partir do ano de 2005, com a inauguração da unidade Barra da Tijuca, colocou em prática uma estrutura inovadora, com bons equipamentos, instalações adequadas, salão climatizado, lanchonete, som ambiente e equipe qualificada.
Kart infantil para crianças com altura mínima de 1,20m e altura máxima de 1,45m. Os organizadores fornecem aos pilotos macacão, luvas, pescoceira, balaclava e capacete. O modelo do motor do kart é o Moro de última geração com Motor Honda de 2,5 HP. Dois karts correm por bateria na pista infantil com duração de 15 minutos (disponível apenas no Top Kart Norte Shopping).

O Elos Clube, é uma entidade cultural, sem fins lucrativos, congregando intelectuais, profissionais autônomos, artistas e produtores de arte, servidores públicos, empresários e não empresários, etc., etc. Foi fundado em 1959, na Cidade de São Vicente, Estado de São Paulo, pelo saudoso médico Eduardo Dias Coelho.
Tem por objetivo: divulgar e propagar a língua portuguesa, os valores lusófonos em todos os países e Continentes onde se fala a língua-mater. No Brasil, defender e propagar os valores luso-brasileiros e lutar pela uniformização da língua portuguesa, respeitados as peculiaridades de cada país, quanto aos dialetos ou fonogenias que a tornam, por isto mesmo, tão rica.

O Serviço de Documentação da Marinha é o resultado da evolução, mais que secular, iniciada com a criação da Biblioteca da Marinha. Esta teve como embrião o Depósito de Escritos Marítimos da Real Academia dos Guardas-Marinha de Portugal, criado em 1802, e transferido para o Brasil, com a Academia, em 1808. Em 1846, foi criada a Biblioteca da Marinha. Com um acervo de aproximadamente cem mil volumes, entre livros, folhetos, periódicos e mapas, a Biblioteca da Marinha é especializada nas áreas de História Naval, História Geral e do Brasil e Cartografia.
