“Gotta Dance” Studio opened its doors on September 15, 2001. Owner, Miss Terri as she is known by her students, starting dancing at the age of 5 and always dreamed, that one day, she would open her own studio. She continued taking dance classes and was also a member of a local community theatre group for many years. There she was able to learn and develop not only her love of dance, but also her love for music, singing and acting. The performing arts has always been a big part of Miss Terri's life.
Mr. Ron & Miss Terri decided the time had come for them to fulfill the life long “Dream” and together they started searching for the perfect place. Their hope was to find a small studio where students could come and learn to love dance & music while having fun in a friendly and safe environment. Today, they are very proud of their accomplishments and are extremely grateful to all the wonderful families who have touched their lives. Their goal is to continue with this very gratifying work and in the process make “Gotta Dance” Studio, for all the families who are a part of it, a place that will be remembered and remain forever close to their hearts!

Champion Irish dancer and former lead of Riverdance, Kathleen Ryan, has expanded Ryan Irish Dance Academy to five locations across Nassau County.
Miss Kathleen has been dancing for more than 25 years, launching her international career with Riverdance on Broadway in 2000 and touring widely across North America with the iconic Celtic company until April 2005.

An integrated arts enrichment program which provides a meaningful introduction and foundation in the arts for lifetime enhancement. In over sixty public and private schools throughout the New York Metropolitan Area we teach preschool through high school students of all populations including Special Education, Bilingual/ESL, and Gifted/TAG. Our program stimulates creativity and intellectual growth while contributing to emotional and physical well-being.

The Berest Dance Center has operated in Port Washington since 1976. It is family owned with Olga Berest as director and Heather Berest, joining her mom as artistic director in 2006. (See article and pix below)

Alexandra Beller/Dances is an ensemble of highly skilled dancer/actors working on the edge between dance and theater. Rich with personal revelations, performances attempt to move, stimulate, impassion and incite the audience. Ripe with metaphor, abstracted narrative and controversial ideas, the dances traffic through the dangerous territory of homophobia, sexism, and emotional isolationism. The company seeks to intersect distinctions between races, nationalities, sexual orientations and political affiliations through a series of artistic collisions. The creations are a truly unique hybrid form, where speaking and moving are essential forces in the creation of meaning. Dances often pay homage to great writers and fertile landscapes of words are often used to create a sense of place, time and relationship. Movement is a key to the startling, idiosyncratic and mysterious information that resides in the body.

Criada em 1985, a Escola recebeu, inicialmente, o nome de Escola de Dança Chiquinha Gonzaga. Posteriormente, mudou de nome, em homenagem a Maria Antonieta, professora de Jaime Arôxa. Em 1986, já com 800 alunos, tornou-se oficialmente a Escola de Dança e Centro Cultural Jaime Arôxa, de acordo com alguns, um pequeno paraíso no meio da selva de pedra carioca
Pioneiro na arte de ensinar Dança de Salão, Jaime Arôxa formou dezenas de professores e milhares de alunos, além de atuar em todas as áreas da dança (cinema, teatro, coreografia e eventos).

Founded by artistic director Diana Byer in 1978 as the official training school of New York Theatre Ballet. The School teaches dance as a total art form, developing strong technical skill and discipline…fluidity and ease of movement…and a strong sense of theater, style, musicality, and expression. It is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the great ballet mistress Margaret Craske. She was certified by Enrico Cecchetti and served as director of instruction at BSNY for many years until her retirement in 1987.

The Centre is one of New York City's largest minority-owned dance studios, and is the only cultural center in the world specializing in multi-ethnic dance and drum. Alice Arja tem sido responsável pela formação de uma nova geração de bailarinos que, com um estilo apurado e próprio, vem conquistando as platéias nacionais e internacionais. Tendo como objetivo maior em seu trabalho popularizar o ballet e levar arte e cultura a todos os segmentos da sociedade, em 1995 firmou convênio com a 7ª Coordenadoria Regional de Educação, quando sua Escola começou a oferecer bolsas de estudos para crianças/adolescentes oriundas de comunidades carentes.

Iniciativa bem sucedida, o Centro de Dança de Jacarepaguá foi criado em 2003, como resultado da parceria entre as Professoras Sueli Grabinska e Paloma Collaço e tem o objetivo de proporcionar a ampla divulgação da arte da dança.
Ao longo destes quase 5 anos, o CDJ - carinhosamente chamado por seus alunos, se firmou em Jacarepaguá como uma opção de aprendizado em Dança Infantil, Ballet, Jazz e Sapateado. Carlinhos de Niterói - Professor, bailarino e coreógrafo, segue a metodologia do seu mestre Jaime Arôxa por 15 anos. Inaugurou a filial Jaime Arôxa Niterói no dia 07/7/2001. Se formou em Dança de Salão e Coreografia pela Universidade Estácio de Sá no dia 4 de julho de 2008. Viaja para Buenos Aires uma ou duas vezes ao ano levando alunos para passeio e para reciclagem de tango.

Há 25 anos o professor e coreógrafo, Acácio de Souza, se dedica à pesquisa e ensino do samba em suas diversas modalidades, além de ser um representante legítimo do samba de gafieira do final da década de 70, preservando suas características originais e tipicamente mineiras. O samba de gafieira é uma forma de dançar brincando, buscando recurso em variadas coreografias, com muita irreverência e alegria.

Em agosto de 1991, Leonardo Wenceslau e Elaine Reis fundaram a Academia de Dança e Arte Pé de Valsa, concretizando o sonho de ter uma escola com uma nova didática no ensino da dança de salão. Nestes 18 anos de funcionamento, mais de 5 mil alunos já passaram pela Academia, que, hoje, tem dois endereços em Belo Horizonte: nos bairros Cidade Jardim e Carlos Prates.

A Escola de Dança Corpo Livre foi fundada por Doris Geraldi, em março de 1984, sendo a pioneira no ensino de dança na Barra da Tijuca. Desde 1990 a Direção Geral da Escola está á cargo de Doris e Alessandra Geraldi. A dedicação e o profissionalismo de toda a equipe, mantém o trabalho sério e de qualidade que fez com que a Corpo Livre seja a principal referência no ensino de dança na Barra da Tijuca. A Escola de Dança Corpo Livre se orgulha de ter sido a responsável pela formação de excelentes profissionais que se destacam no mundo da dança, cada qual em sua atividade, alguns fundaram sua própria escola de dança, outras são professoras da Corpo Livre ou de outras academias ou escolas. O Corpo de Baile do Theatro Municipal tem entre suas dançarinas, alunas que foram formadas na Escola de Dança Corpo Livre.
