Dakota Square Mall is an enclosed shopping center in the city of Minot, North Dakota. The largest mall within 170 km, it includes four major anchor stores, over 70 smaller stores, a food court, and a nine-screen Carmike Cinema with stadium seating. It also includes local recruiting offices for the United States military.
One unusual feature of the mall is a Sleep Inn & Suites, which is directly attached to the mall itself. The hotel also features Splashdown Dakota Super Slides, a 24,000 square foot water park complex. Dakota Square is one of only a few shopping malls in the United States to feature an attached hotel. Kings Plaza is a shopping center that opened in 1970, within the Marine Park/Mill Basin section of Brooklyn, east of Flatbush Avenue. Originally hosting the now defunct Alexander's, as well as Macy*s department store chains, it began to operate a branch of Sears in 1997, and underwent extensive renovations in 2001. Later, Kings Plaza closed the Waldenbooks book store, Suncoast videos and Sam Goody music store. The Banana Republic store was closed and changed into a children's clothing store named Kidstown (which has also closed) and a Godiva chocolate store was added. CVS also closed and was replaced by a furniture store. An Armani Exchange store was added to the mall, expected to open summer 2008. Source

An eight-screen Consolidated Theatres movie theater is nestled into one corner of the mall. Waialae Bowl, the only bowling center within several miles of the neighborhood, was somewhat interestingly built into a McDonald's, at the corner opposite the movie theater. Unfortunately, it has since closed down (not related to the flood, however.)
The movie theater in this mall was closed in March 2006. It has since reopened. The closing occurred as a result of flooding from heavy rains. The flood broke a hole through the wall of the theater and flowed into the mall, and parts of the ground floor had 3-6 inches of rain water. Many shops suffered substantially; some never reopened.
