The River to River Festival takes place each summer during the month of July, in a variety of public venues that canvas all of Downtown New York - from Chambers Street down to the southern tip of Manhattan and across the island from river to river. Holladay Tours began with a goal. Tom and Sharon Holladay wanted to share with others the travel experiences they had enjoyed in their personal travels. It took some time to get the word out and the name circulated but they hung in there and didn’t give up. Each year business increased and in 1992 Holladay Tours was incorporated. A tour brochure was published twice yearly and continues to be mailed to a growing list of tour guests. In 1994 Tom made the decision to go into the group tour business on a full time basis. Sharon joined him in the business in 1996 as a tour planner and tour escort. Holladay Tours continues into its second decade with the original goal in mind to provide the customer with the ultimate travel experience.

In its early years it was printed in a building one former editor described as a "cubicle" in Old Town Kenai next door to one of that area's bars. <br> The paper continued to grow, eventually moving to its present location on Trading Bay Drive and converting in 1978 from a weekly to a Monday through Friday publication. A major change ocurred in 1990 when the paper was sold to Georgia-based newspaper chain, Morris Communications. <br> In the years since then the paper has changed from tabloid format to broad sheet and in 1997 started publishing a Sunday edition. The Clarion started producing its web site edition in April 2000.
