In 1984 I founded The French Culinary Institute with a singular vision-to create a world-class culinary school that set itself apart from other cooking schools by combining classic French techniques with American inventiveness in a fast-paced curriculum. Today The FCI is one of the most prestigious culinary institutes in the world. And for a good reason: our distinguished faculty. It includes the celebrated master chefs Alain Sailhac, Jacques Pépin, André Soltner, Jacques Torres, Alice Waters, and master sommelier Andrea Robinson (formerly Andrea Immer). And, our visiting lecturers include culinary powerhouses such as star alumnus Bobby Flay, and Marcella Hazan. In fact, The FCI is the only place Marcella teaches!
