The largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world, opened in 1992. Located in downtown Atlanta, the Dome is the home venue for the Atlanta Falcons, host to Super Bowl XXVIII and XXXIV, host of the gymnastics and basketball events for the 1996 Olympic Games and host to both a Men's and Women's NCAA Final Four.
Annually, the Dome hosts the Bank of America Atlanta Football classic, the SEC Football Championship and the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Belmont Park is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, N.Y. There are two race meetings at Belmont Park in 2012: the 56-day Spring/Summer meeting will be from April 27 to July 15; and the 37-day Fall Championship meeting will be from Sept. 8 to Oct. 28. Belmont Park is the home of the 144th Running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday June 9, 2012.

NEW in 2006! The Big Kahuna The most visible enhancement to the park this year can be seen climbing 75 feet into the air: the Big Kahuna is an extreme tubing experience, which begins as guests board a four-person raft headed for a spiraling ride more than 700 feet long. Guests speed through triple dips and twisting turns on the alternately open and enclosed track before bursting into the sunshine and the cool splash pool below.

The New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a memorial located in New York City that honors the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. The memorial features a series of excerpts etched into the walls of the memorial. These excerpts were chosen from letters, diary entries, and poems written by Americans during the Vietnam Era and were submitted to the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission. These quotes are supplemented by news dispatches and public statements about the war.
The excerpts were chosen to provide a diverse representation of the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of those who served during the Vietnam War. They reflect the range of emotions felt by soldiers and their families, from the pride and patriotism of those who served, to the pain and sorrow of those who lost loved ones in the conflict. The Memorial serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by the veterans of the Vietnam War and their families.
The location of the Memorial is significant as it is located one block east of Fraunces Tavern, where George Washington bade farewell to his officers at the end of the Revolutionary War. This location is symbolic of the connection between the sacrifice made by veterans of the Revolutionary War and the sacrifice made by veterans of the Vietnam War. It is a reminder that the sacrifices made by American veterans are not limited to a single war, but are an ongoing part of American history.

Always something fun for everyone. Surrounded by the same stately trees for which it was named, The Oaks, in Portland, Oregon in 2005 will celebrate its 100th consecutive year of operation, making it one of the oldest continuously operating amusement parks in America. Built by the Oregon Water Power and Navigation Company, the park opened its gates on May 30, 1905 to Portlanders who arrived by foot and on horseback, in automobiles and by boat from the Willamette River. In keeping with the design of other "Trolley Parks" across the country, most of its visitors disembarked from trolley cars which ran along the Portland-to-Oregon City tracks forming the eastern boundary of the park.

The center span was the longest among suspension bridges until 1964 when the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge was erected between the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York City. Waterslides - NRH2O has three awesome body slides. Guests must be at least 48" tall to ride the body slides.

The Black Falls is a thrilling, enclosed slide that plummets riders through near-darkness to the water below.

The Great White is an open flume that is perfect for guests looking for a calmer ride. The Blue Twister is a twisting, turning ride that is totally enclosed.

The Double Dipper, our double rider innertube slide, is perfect for parents who wish to ride with their children. Its twisting turns and sloping drops make this one of our most popular slides.

To participate at Splashin' Safari, swimwear or shorts and shirts may be worn and must be modest in design and gender appropriate. No revealing or thong swimsuits allowed. Clothing or body art with rude, vulgar or inflammatory language or graphics is not permitted. Swim shoes, sandals, and aqua socks are allowed (and encouraged if your feet are sensitive) on the water slides. Children in diapers must wear swim diapers. Guests must change into street clothes (shoes, shorts and shirts) before returning to Holiday World. Showers and changing rooms are provided and rental lockers are available.

The Space Needle is a major landmark of the Pacific Northwest and is the symbol of the U.S. city of Seattle, Washington. Located on the grounds of Seattle Center, it was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators — 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. It is now privately owned. The Space Needle is a tower 184 m (605 feet) high and 42 m (138 feet) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude, and has 25 lightning rods on the roof to withstand lightning strikes. Source
