Holladay Tours began with a goal. Tom and Sharon Holladay wanted to share with others the travel experiences they had enjoyed in their personal travels. The Holladays recognized the merits of group travel. new adventures and new friends all at an affordable price! In 1990 they began to schedule group tours on a part time basis. It took some time to get the word out and the name circulated but they hung in there and didn’t give up. Each year business increased and in 1992 Holladay Tours was incorporated. A tour brochure was published twice yearly and continues to be mailed to a growing list of tour guests. In 1994 Tom made the decision to go into the group tour business on a full time basis. Sharon joined him in the business in 1996 as a tour planner and tour escort. Holladay Tours continues into its second decade with the original goal in mind to provide the customer with the ultimate travel experience.

A week each May opens up the chance for JCCC faculty and staff to venture across Kansas and really see what the state is all about. The journey touches down in places like Salina, Lindsborg, Nicodemus, Lucas, Hays, Victoria, Dodge City, Garden City, Mullinville, Goessel, and Council Grove—stopping long enough to dig into local history, meet the people shaping communities, and understand how geography and economy shape life here. Whether winter has just released its grip or spring is settling in, participants explore the art, environment, and heritage that define Kansas beyond Johnson County borders. Through visits to significant landmarks, conversations with local figures, and thoughtful preparation materials, the experience builds genuine insight into what Kansas culture really means. It's designed for people who work or live here but haven't yet discovered the full story of their own state.

With a blast of its steam whistle, the locomotive chugs along a six-mile stretch of track at a leisurely pace. During your train ride, the Sugar Cane train crosses a 325-foot curved wooden trestle whose elevation yields panoramic views of neighboring islands and the West Maui Mountains. <br> During your journey, the narrator will entertain you Hawaiian-style and point out sites of interest along the way. From December to April, it is a common sight to spot humpback whales frolicking in the warm Pacific waters.

The Pineapple Express train tour is a two-mile, 20 minute train ride that is fun and exciting for everyone. It is a fully narrated train tour, educational and very informative. Along the route, you'll learn about the history of the pineapple, the agriculture in Hawaii and hear the story of James Dole, who pioneered the pineapple industry in Hawaii. You'll travel through a working plantation, and you'll see a variety of other crops, often including plants in early stages of growth and fields under preparation for planting. You'll also see some of the most beautiful scenery on the North Shore. Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket booth in Dole Plantation.

Tours depart daily from the village of Mendocino at 10:00 a.m., returning at about 4:00 p.m. We will pick you up and drop you off at any inn within the village or down the coast as far as the Navarro Bridge.
