Northgate Mall opened in 1972 on the former site of the Mt. Healthy Airport. When it opened, the Mall was heralded as "one of the largest and most modern shopping centers in the country" which was expected to "change the shopping habits of the area."
The Mall has more than 1.1 million square feet of retail space, and is comprised of more than 100 specialty shops and four department stores: Lazarus, Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears.

With over 37 years of history and commitment to the City of Edmonton and south Edmonton Communities, Southgate Centre opened in 1970 with 65 stores and services. It was anchored by The Bay, Woodwards and Woodwards Food Floor. Southgate Centre was the largest shopping centre in Edmonton at the time.
Since then, Southgate Centre has evolved within the retail industry in Edmonton and has gone through numerous changes. It was expanded in 1982 doubling the size of the property, including the addition of roof top and decked parking and expanding the store count to over 130. In 1999 Southgate Centre underwent a further major renovation and redevelopment, which saw the Food Festival relocated and expanded, second level development, revitalised public spaces and a host of new and freshly renovated stores.

West County Center is a shopping mall located in Des Peres, Missouri, originally built in 1969. The original mall closed in 2001, and a new mall on the site opened in 2002. From the mid 1990s-2007, the mall was known as Westfield (Shoppingtown) West County and was one of 7 St. Louis malls owned by the Australian mall company until CBL & Associates acquired 4 out of 5 Westfield St. Louis malls in October, 2007. Market Mall is one of the largest malls (by area) in Calgary, Alberta. It is located in Varsity, a suburban neighborhood in the City's northwest quadrant on Shaganappi Trail.
The latest expansion saw the addition of the South wing, an underground parkade, a larger food court, and a complete renovation of the existing centre.
