"We are a community dedicated to encourage, through the Pilates method, the nurturing of the body, mind and spirit. To affirm our purpose we use each day to discover our inner potential. In this state of harmony we assure that our capacity for love and compassion may arise and be free to thrive. It is our studio’s goal that we may all achieve these requisites of happiness: a restored physical vitality, an invigorated mind and an elevated spirit."

"Opening COIL YOGA (an acronym for Conscious, Open, Integrated, Living) in the spring of 2002 has been the most rewarding decision I have ever made. The joy and love I am able to share and receive from the community of people at COIL YOGA is priceless. It was not an easy decision to leave the stability of my job at Community Medical Foundation and take a leap of faith to become a small business owner in Downtown Fresno. Thanks to that job at Community, I found the space that is now COIL YOGA. As soon as I saw the room, I knew I wanted it to be a Yoga studio. Shortly after that, I discovered the owner of the building was Arthur Dyson, a long-time friend of my late grandfather. One sign after another continued to "show up" and support my desire to take that exciting leap. In its infinite wisdom, the universe provided exactly what was needed so that my vision could become a reality ... one breath at a time ...one student at a time..."

"Sisters Yoga is Fresno's first all-female yoga studio. Unlike traditional yoga studios, Sisters focuses on a happier, looser, less traditional form of yoga which includes music that runs from R&B to pop to World. Instructors also incorporate props such as blocks and straps to help students attain correct alignment regardless of their skill level. Classes range from Happy Hour yoga which is more of a "workout", to "Chill Out" which is restorative, gentle yoga. A Pilates mat class, and "Yo-God!" which is Christian-based, free to the community and half of donations go to the Marjaree Mason Center. Sisters Yoga also holds many monthly, dance workout workshops. Owner Kandis Kliewer and Founder Chaz Russ, who are registered with Yoga Alliance, believe all females need a place where they can nourish themselves away from relationships and responsibilities. Sisters Yoga provides a space where the female yogi (age 7 and up) can tune into her unique melody, the same melody that serves as the soundtrack to her life. This is a place where women can “let their hair down,” learn how to laugh at their misfortunes, tend to the garden of their self-esteem, and amaze themselves with their growing inner and outer strengths."

At the age of eight Sadguru Sri Mahayogi Paramahamsa spontaneously entered nirvikalpa samadhi, complete absorption without any notion or concept, and realized the Atman — True Self. He awoke to Non-dual Reality. After Realization, as an adolescent, he began intensive austerities called tapasya and through these he accomplished and mastered all the branches of Yoga, proving through his own experience that they are all genuine paths to the realization of Supreme Self or God — Everlasting Oneness or Immortal Truth.
Danna began practicing yoga in high school over 25 years ago. She found in yoga a practice that allowed her to access inner vitality, peace and wisdom. Her love of this practice and the anchor it provides in her life, led her to become a certified yoga teacher through the Sivananda organization in 1996. She traveled to India in 1998 to study advanced yoga techniques at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala and Ashtanga yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore. Alongside her yoga practice, Danna pursued a career as a television documentary producer over ten years. In 2006, she gave birth to her son and left television production to be home with him and to teach yoga. In 2008 she became a certified prenatal yoga instructor.

"We intend to provide a friendly, positive environment for you to grow and develop as a yoga student. Mary Angela Buffo and Andrew Cohen started Ananda Yoga Center seven years ago with a vision of wellness for the community. While all our classes teach the physical aspects of yoga, it is our hope that our students learn greater self awareness and in the process become better, more loving people."
