Grand Central Terminal turns 100 in 2013 and the celebration is starting the party early with the 11th annual Holiday Train Show! In a brand new layout by Lionel, model Metro-North and New York Central trains depart from a miniature Grand Central on their way North on a 34' long, two-level "O" gauge layout. Vintage model trains from the Museum's collection are on display joined by stunning New York Central railroad posters harkening back to Grand Central's heyday as the nexus of long distance and commuter train travel. Historic papers, a deed signed by Andrew Jackson, and other items of interest may be viewed in the Country Store. Farm equipment, such as wagons, plows, planters, hay rakes, and other pieces, may be seen also.

Since its birth almost forty years ago as the "First Inland Oceanarium", the Aquarium of Niagara has seen over 8 million visitors, tourists, teachers, and students pass through its doors. It was the first aquarium to use synthetic seawater to exclusively maintain marinelife. More than forty exhibits showcase 1,500 aquatic animals from around the globe.
The Aquarium of Niagara is one of only 17 institutions in North America to house a colony of the endangered Peruvian penguin. Two daily penguin feedings provide visitors an opportunity to "Meet the Keeper" and learn about these fascinating aquatic birds!
The schedule includes exciting shark feedings (on alternate days), and scheduled sessions with the California sea lions in the 100,000 gallon central pool. Moray eels, piranhas, clownfish and the brilliantly colored fish of the coral reefs compliment the regional freshwater exhibits of sturgeon, gar and rock bass.

The Downtown Boathouse is an all volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free public access to the harbor in New York City through public kayaking programs. Downtown Boathouse's mission is to encourage safe public use of the harbor waters of New York City and thereby provide residents of this space-constrained city with increased recreational opportunities. It supports our operations exclusively through public donations and the efforts of volunteers.

The ferries operating on this route are equipped with services such as refreshment points, rest areas and toilets. The journey from one terminal to the other takes about 25 minutes. The ferry is also an alternative to the car as it offers a convenient and reliable way to travel between the two parts of the city without traffic jams. Additionally, the ferry is an important part of New York City's transportation infrastructure and helps reduce congestion on the area's freeways.

The Niagara Parks Commission was founded in 1885 as a self-funding agency of the Ontario Government.
The goal of The Niagara Parks Commission is: To preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Falls and the Niagara River corridor for the enjoyment of visitors while maintaining financial independence.
When first established, The Niagara Parks Commission included the immediate area surrounding the Falls (on the Canadian side) which totalled 62.2 hectares (154 acres).
The Commission now maintains approximately 1,720 hectares (4,250 acres) of parkland stretching along the entire length of the Niagara River from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake, with no cost to the taxpayer.

Defining the Toronto skyline, the CN Tower is Canada's most recognizable and celebrated icon. At a height of 553.33m (1,815 ft., 5 inches), it is Canada’s National Tower, the World's Tallest Building, an important telecommunications hub, and the centre of tourism in Toronto.
Each year, approximately 2 million people visit the CN Tower to take in the breath-taking view and enjoy all the attractions it has to offer. The CN Tower was built in 1976 by Canadian National (CN) who wanted to demonstrate the strength of Canadian industry by building a tower taller than any other in the world. In 1995, the CN Tower became a public company and ownership of the Tower was transferred to Canada Lands (CLC) Company, a federal Crown corporation responsible for real estate development.

African Lion Safari is a Canadian owned family business created in the name of conservation. Our manner of exhibiting animals is completely different from the traditional approach; that is, the visitor is caged in the car, and the animals roam in 2 to 20 hectare (5 to 50 acre) reserves. We first opened the gates to the public in 1969 with 40 lions in 3 reserves; today the park houses in excess of 1000 animals of over 100 species. After 39 years we have been successful with breeding 30 species that are considered endangered, and 20 or more species that are considered threatened. The original idea of "maintaining self-sustaining populations of species in decline" is still our priority.

The Calgary Zoo is always interested in working with members of the media to develop stories on the many unique aspects of our organization. From Kamala, our elephant artist, to the successful breeding of Canada 's most endangered animal, the Vancouver Island marmot, the Calgary Zoo has many wonderful stories to tell about the work we are doing to help preserve our natural world.
