Aberta a todos os interessados, com resultados de amplo alcance social, comprometida com a disseminação de uma das maiores riquezas da cultura brasileira, a Escola Portátil de Música é patrocinada pela Petrobras, como projeto convidado. Graças ao patrocínio, as aulas são gratuitas, cabendo aos alunos apenas o pagamento de uma taxa semestral administrativa.
Criada por músicos de choro em 2000, a Escola Portátil de Música vem, desde então, protagonizando uma história de crescimento e sucesso. Hoje, no campus da Uni-Rio na Urca, a EPM dispõe de 23 professores e cerca de 600 alunos de flauta, clarinete, saxofone, trompete, trombone, contrabaixo, violão de 6 e 7 cordas, cavaquinho, bandolim, pandeiro, percussão, piano, acordeom e canto, sem falar das aulas de história do choro, teoria musical, harmonia, arranjo, composição, prática de conjunto etc. A formação musical oferecida pela Escola Portátil de Música é completa (teórica e prática), dando ao aluno formado a possibilidade de trabalhar dentro de qualquer estilo musical, não apenas do choro.

The particular cleft is the valley and brook between Emerson and Grymes Hills. This valley was deepened by the glacier 20,000 years ago. The brook which ran through the valley originated in Clove Swamp and ran to the Kill Van Kull. The damming of this brook over the years created the different lakes and ponds in the area.

The visually stimulating Manhattan attraction, constructed from glass and steel, features a large spherical dome where the universe comes to life in front of your very eyes. The department of Astrophysics, located in the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History, conducts research focusing on the formation and evolution of stars, star clusters, the effects of their radiation, and much more. O Observatório iniciou suas atividades no ano de 2001, como projeto de Extensão da Faculdade de Educação da UFF. Nossas principais preocupações de estudo, pesquisa e extensão estão relacionadas com as transformações da condição juvenil na história, as situações de vida dos jovens na contemporaneidade e suas mobilizações sociais, culturais e políticas.. Nosso grupo se organiza em torno de duas linhas de pesquisa: a) Juventude e processos educativos e b) Juventude e culturas da participação. O Observatório Jovem do Rio de Janeiro é cadastrado no diretório de grupos de pesquisa do CNPq e também está presente no Conselho Nacional de Juventude juntamente com o Observatório da Juventude da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

A Associação Brasileira de Gestão Cultural - ABGC, é uma entidade civil sem fins lucrativos, fundada em 2005, que atua na profissionalização e na formação de conhecimento acadêmico junto aos setores de Produção e Gestão Cultural e Social, mediante a realização de ações e projetos voltados à qualificação profissional e à inserção das profissões afins no mercado de trabalho, tendo como prerrogativa reunir pesquisadores, professores e profissionais das áreas da produção de bens culturais e do gerenciamento em cultura, nos âmbitos público e privado, propondo-se a realizar cursos de capacitação em formatos diversos - corporativos, de extensão e de pós-graduação, além de pesquisas e publicações.
Em 2001 foi implantado o primeiro curso de graduação em Produção Cultural do Rio de Janeiro e, em 2002, o primeiro curso de pós-graduação lato sensu – MBA em Gestão Cultural no país, que já está em sua sétima turma.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center has garnered national attention in its first thirteen seasons, serving as a model for programming, audience diversity, education initiatives, and the catalytic role it has played in returning nightlife and economic activity to NJ's largest urban community. On its Opening Night in 1997, NJPAC became the sixth largest performing arts center in the U.S. (based on annual operating budget).

Construído em três anos, de 1936 a 1939, o prédio da ABI, destaca-se inclusive por ter sido nele utilizada pela primeira vez a solução apresentada pelo legendário Le Corbusier para o problema do excesso de luz - o “brise-soleil”, quebra-sol através de persianas de concreto na fachada.
O edifício-sede da ABI foi tombado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Estadual em 1965. Sua principal característica é a unidade, que dá a tônica do conjunto, tanto nas soluções plásticas quanto nas estruturais.
A história da fundação da ABI se confunde com a de seu perseverante idealizador Gustavo de Lacerda. Criada em 7 de abril de 1908, seu principal objetivo era assegurar à classe jornalística os direitos assistenciais e tornar-se um centro poderoso de ação. Segundo o próprio Lacerda, a Associação deveria ser um campo neutro em que se pudessem abrigar todos os trabalhadores da imprensa.

Flushing Meadow Corona Park is one of the greatest places in New York City. It has become the keystone park of Queens and a recreation and cultural hub for the region; yet, it was once just a dusty wasteland, "a valley of ashes" as F. Scott Fitzgerald dubbed it in the Great Gatsby. Its poetic, phoenix-like transformation from ash dump to oasis was driven by Queens' residents, the City and 1939 and 1965 World's Fair held in this park. These fairs put this park on the world's stage, and it has stayed there, hosting the United Nations General Assembly for five years, three baseball World Seres at Shea Stadium, and the U.S. Open.

O Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian foi criado em 11 de março de 1971 e recebeu este nome em homenagem à instituição cultural portuguesa sediada em Lisboa, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. A origem do Centro Calouste Gulbenkian, que está instalado na Praça Onze, está ligada à necessidade de formar professores de artesanato para atender às escolas públicas do Estado do Rio. O Palácio Pedro Ernesto possui obras que retratam importantes momentos e belos detalhes arquitetônicos. Ao entrar no Palácio, construído no início do século XX por A. Jannuzzi, é forte a impressão. Beleza e tradição caminham juntas pelo piso em xadrez de mármores de Carrara e verde grego. A escadaria em frente ao portão principal tem, em seu patamar, o busto do prefeito Pedro Ernesto, obra de Pinto do Couto. Mais dezoito degraus levam ao segundo pavimento, nos quais o pintor Carlos Oswald deixou sua marca. Produziu painéis, em forma de leque, representando cenas de época: A audição de cravo, O minueto, A cadeirinha e A cabra cega. Ainda na Presidência, pode ser encontrada uma loba romana, que amamenta os irmãos Rômulo e Remo, peça de bronze de Barye, grande mestre animalista francês. As pinturas no teto são de autoria dos irmãos Carlos e Rodolfo Chambelland, em estilo impressionista.

Localizado no Flamengo, o Arte Sesc se estabeleceu em uma construção de 1912, com arquitetura eclética, antiga moradia de Frederico Figner, empresário que trouxe para o Brasil os primeiros equipamentos de som e luz, como fonógrafos, gramofones e kinetoscópios. Figner também fundou a primeira gravadora musical no Brasil, a Odeon, contribuindo para difundir a música brasileira na Europa.

No Brasil, defender e propagar os valores luso-brasileiros e lutar pela uniformização da língua portuguesa, respeitados as peculiaridades de cada país, quanto aos dialetos ou fonogenias que a tornam, por isto mesmo, tão rica.
