Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói tinha sido concluído ainda há poucos meses, quando o então prefeito da cidade, Jorge Roberto Silveira, convidou o arquiteto Oscar Niemeyer para uma nova empreitada. Pensando em revitalizar a zona central de Niterói, Jorge Roberto decidiu construir num terreno de 72.000 m² à beira mar, um complexo arquitetônico, voltado para a cultura e a religião da população. Certo de que seria um importante intervenção urbanística, o prefeito convidou Niemeyer para criar as edificações que, juntas com o MAC, formariam um caminho ao longo da orla, o Caminho Niemeyer. O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, conhecido como Aterro do Flamengo, possui 1.200.000m² de área verde à beira-mar,com arbustos floridos, uma profusão de árvores, compondo uma das mais visitadas e belas áreas de lazer da cidade. A idealização do parque foi de Lota Macedo Soares, de família da elite carioca. Não fez universidade mas foi aluna de Cândido Portinari e tornou-se uma esteta com conhecimento de arquitetura e urbanismo. Lota era também conhecida por sua curiosidade e conhecimento de plantas.
Lota teve a idéia de iluminar o aterro à noite para permitir passeios noturnos no parque. As quadras de esporte foram idéia sua, que são alugadas todos os dias do ano, inclusive de madrugada, quando ficam tomadas por times de várias associações. Com o aval do governador, de então, Carlos Lacerda, reuniu um grupo de amigos notáveis para materializar o projeto: o paisagista Roberto Burle Marx, o botânico Luiz Emygdio de Mello Filho e os arquitetos Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Sérgio Bernardes e Jorge Moreira.

Fundada em 1894, a Confeitaria Colombo faz parte do patrimônio cultural e artístico da cidade e é o ponto de referência do turismo da cidade. Com um pedaço do passado que visita o presente, a Confeitaria Colombo é o exemplo típico da arquitetura art nouveau e d belle époque carioca. The Brooklyn Bridge has a center lane open to bicycles and pedestrians, just above automobile traffic. While the bridge has always permitted the passage of pedestrians across its span, its role in allowing thousands to cross takes on a special importance in times of crisis and becomes a symbol of New Yorkers' resilience.

Nosso grupo se organiza em torno de duas linhas de pesquisa: a) Juventude e processos educativos e b) Juventude e culturas da participação. O Observatório Jovem do Rio de Janeiro é cadastrado no diretório de grupos de pesquisa do CNPq e também está presente no Conselho Nacional de Juventude juntamente com o Observatório da Juventude da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

The particular cleft is the valley and brook between Emerson and Grymes Hills. This valley was deepened by the glacier 20,000 years ago. The brook which ran through the valley originated in Clove Swamp and ran to the Kill Van Kull. The damming of this brook over the years created the different lakes and ponds in the area.

The Space Needle is a major landmark of the Pacific Northwest and is the symbol of the U.S. city of Seattle, Washington. Located on the grounds of Seattle Center, it was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators — 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. It is now privately owned. The Space Needle is a tower 184 m (605 feet) high and 42 m (138 feet) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude, and has 25 lightning rods on the roof to withstand lightning strikes. Source
