The mall as of 2007[update] is going through an extensive renovation that has moved the old 10 screen theater to a replacement Cinemark 16 screen "stadium style seating" theater in the north ring road area on Avenue O-8. Bristol Mall is the only regional shopping mall serving Bristol, Virginia. The mall was built in the early to mid 1970s.
