The first American Male was opened in 1997 by the Raylon Corporation, a full service wholesale distributor of beauty supply products in PA, NJ and DE. The salon's purpose was to serve as a learning lab to try and better understand and service male clients in a salon specifically for men. With virtually no marketing, the salon began to grow and other American Male salons were opened in the surrounding areas. Now American Male offers franchise opportunities so that others can operate their own American Male salon.
