Bill Forbes Chevrolet Chrysler Jeep Dodge Bill Forbes started in the car business in 1978 as a car salesman at Royal Oldsmobile in Charleston, West Virginia. At that time, the Key-Royal chain of dealerships was one of the largest in the country, and offered an extensive training program in automotive sales and management. In July of 1979, he was offered the position of Used Car Manager of Bob Robinson Chevrolet in his hometown of New Martinsville, West Virginia, and accepted it. In 1981, he was made General Manager, and in 1985, at the age of 29, purchased the dealership from his employer, Bob Robinson. The dealership then became Bill Forbes Chevrolet-Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge. Since 1985, the dealership has acquired another location and franchise, Jeep, and has grown to over 50 employees. At Bill Forbes Chevrolet-Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge, we acknowledge that God is in control of all things, that it is His hand that blesses and gives increase; and that this dealership cannot control its own destiny outside of His blessing, protection, and provision. By 1911, Darling’s had expanded to Portland, and become statewide distributor for REO. By 1922, the Darling Automobile Company had REO sales of over a million dollars a year. In 1926, Clarence Darling, a nephew of the founder, opened a Bangor location, and in 1927, Darling’s opened in Augusta. In 1935, REO ceased production, and the Darling Automobile Company that was REO’s statewide distributor went out of business. In 1937, Clarence’s son Owen opened the first of today’s Darling’s stores. Today, Owen’s son John, grandchildren Jay, Carrie, Lynne and over 200 associates, sell and service: Honda, Nissan, Volvo, Audi, VW, and Ford from 2 locations in Bangor Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Buick, Pontiac, and GMC in Ellsworth Chrysler, Dodge and Hyundai in Augusta

The Kentucky Derby is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The station was built in 1907 and originally was the home to Hook and Ladder Company No. 3. The Museum boasts a fantastic collection of fire apparatus including “Old Tige”, an 1884 horse-drawn steam pumper named after then mayor W.L. Cabell. Other apparatus include some of the first motorized engines that were used by the Dallas Fire Department. Children can indulge their fascination with firefighters by climbing on a 1951 Fire engine, pulling on their helmet, and pretending they are on their way to “save the day”.
