Riddle's Elephant and Wildlife Sanctuary was established by Scott and Heidi Riddle in 1990 on 330 acres in the Ozark Mountain foothills in Arkansas as a non-profit home for elephants needing one for any reason. This is the only internationally recognized sanctuary that accepts any elephant regardless of species, gender, or disposition.

Published on Mondays by students of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 4,000 free copies are distributed to the University, Plaza, Westport, Brookside, Midtown and Downtown areas. The University News has served the UMKC community since 1933.

Walking through Lower Manhattan's quietest corners, you'll find two sprawling reflecting pools set into the exact ground where the Twin Towers rose. Nearly an acre each, these basins hold the continent's most impressive manmade waterfalls, their cascading waters creating a meditative soundscape even on winter's coldest days. Every single name—nearly 3,000 lives lost during the 2001 attacks, plus the six who died in the 1993 bombing—has been etched into bronze edging the pools. Running your fingers along these inscriptions in the winter frost connects you directly to the scale of loss that unfolded here and at the Pentagon, as well as in Shanksville. Michael Arad and Peter Walker's design emerged from over 5,200 submissions worldwide to create something that honors both the civilians and rescue workers whose courage defined that day.

Fun Plex started here in Omaha, Neb in 1978. We started small with miniature golf, go-karts, and an arcade. <br> As the years passed by we have made many expansions and improvements. We built a new go-kart track, introduced a slick track, and subsequently built many more rides. These include bumper cars, bumper boats, and numerous kiddie rides. <br> The year 1984 saw many changes for Fun Plex. This is when we introduced the first elements of our waterpark. We started simply with a wave pool. A few years later we built twin 5-storey Typhoon water slides. <br> Today, we are continuing our expansions plans. In 2001 we added two new rides, the Balloon Ferris Wheel and the Kiddie Train. In 2002 we remodeled our midway into our new air-conditioned Pit Stop. 2003 saw the addition of both the Yo-Yo and the Chaos.. Fun Plex now consists of two water slides, a wave pool, a lazzy river, 5 kiddie rides, batting cages, a go-kart and slick track, bumper cars and boats, Tilt-A-Whirl, and a Ferris Wheel. We now see tens of thousands of guests come through our park every year and host numerous company picnics. In 2004 we are planning lots of great changes, and we hope you will be there with us to share in the exciting news ! ! !
