Cardinal Hayes High School
From its founding in the early 1940s under Cardinal Spellman's direction, this institution quickly expanded across multiple buildings to accommodate a thriving student body of over 3000 young men from the Bronx and Manhattan. The cold months here bring a particular energy to campus life, as students move between the Main Building on the Grand Concourse and its four annexes, their footsteps echoing through hallways lined with decades of academic tradition. Faculty drawn from the Archdiocesan Priests, Irish Christian Brothers, De La Salle Brothers, Franciscan Brothers, Marist Brothers, Xaverian Brothers, and devoted lay educators have shaped generations through rigorous academics paired with spiritual guidance, a dual mission that continues defining the experience for those who walk through these doors.
