But our love for the city was strong and we decided to make a move just around the corner to 23 East 40th Street. Then in 1975, we moved once more to our current location, 292 Madison Avenue.

A Greenwich Village fixture since 1946. When we decided to move to bigger digs recently, we thought it was only fitting that we’d end up in a New York City Landmark, the De Vinne Press Building. A charming and formidable structure, it has stood on the corner of Fourth and Lafayette Streets in Manhattan since 1885. Its façade has been carefully maintained, leaving its charming period-specific features intact.

In almost every other part of the world where wine is produced people drink almost exclusively the local stuff. But not in New York. Wines that are age-worthy and that merit cosseting to ensure that they mature properly under the best possible conditions. As you will find when you check out what is available, many of these wines have fully matured and reached perfect drinkability; many others will merit further ageing in your own cellar, should you choose them. And some few fall into the "hard to get" category.
