O Elos Clube, é uma entidade cultural, sem fins lucrativos, congregando intelectuais, profissionais autônomos, artistas e produtores de arte, servidores públicos, empresários e não empresários, etc., etc. Foi fundado em 1959, na Cidade de São Vicente, Estado de São Paulo, pelo saudoso médico Eduardo Dias Coelho.
Tem por objetivo: divulgar e propagar a língua portuguesa, os valores lusófonos em todos os países e Continentes onde se fala a língua-mater. No Brasil, defender e propagar os valores luso-brasileiros e lutar pela uniformização da língua portuguesa, respeitados as peculiaridades de cada país, quanto aos dialetos ou fonogenias que a tornam, por isto mesmo, tão rica.

"Mestre dos Sonhos" Francisco de Paula Coimbra de Almeida Brennand nasceu a 11 de junho de 1927, na cidade do Recife, capital do Estado de Pernambuco. Em novembro de 1971, o artista começou a reconstruir a velha Cerâmica São João da Várzea, fundada pelo seu pai em 1917. Esse conjunto, encontrado em ruínas, deu início a um colossal projeto de esculturas cerâmicas que deveriam povoar os espaços internos e externos do ambiente. Hoje, após mais de 34 anos de trabalho intenso e obsessivo, confrontamo-nos com esse complexo escultórico, cujo significado dá relevo a um sentido cosmogônico e, ao mesmo tempo, visionário de Francisco Brennand.

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O CCBB oferece ao público uma programação cultural que é referência no Rio de Janeiro e no Brasil. Com projetos nas mais diversas áreas, o Centro tem um volume de freqüentadores comparável ao de outras grandes instituições culturais do mundo.
Nos vários campos da arte, a programação procura oferecer obras que vão do clássico ao experimental, do erudito ao popular, dos grandes mestres aos talentos iniciantes. Esses critérios de seleção permitem ao CCBB alcançar freqüentadores com os mais abrangentes níveis de interesse. Instalado no número 66 da Rua Primeiro de Março, o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil é uma das jóias arquitetônicas da Cidade. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. Helio Oiticica (1937-1980) foi um dos mais criativos artistas plásticos brasileiros. A síntese de sua obra são seus belos "Parangolés" (1964): capas, estandartes ou bandeiras coloridas de algodão ou náilon com poemas em tinta sobre o tecido a serem vestidas ou carregadas pelo ator/espectador, que passa a perceber seu corpo transformado em dança. Quase uma poesia, pois a obra de arte só se revela quando alguém a manuseia, a movimenta.

Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. O Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, conhecido como Aterro do Flamengo, possui 1.200.000m² de área verde à beira-mar,com arbustos floridos, uma profusão de árvores, compondo uma das mais visitadas e belas áreas de lazer da cidade. A idealização do parque foi de Lota Macedo Soares, de família da elite carioca. Não fez universidade mas foi aluna de Cândido Portinari e tornou-se uma esteta com conhecimento de arquitetura e urbanismo. Lota era também conhecida por sua curiosidade e conhecimento de plantas.
Lota teve a idéia de iluminar o aterro à noite para permitir passeios noturnos no parque. As quadras de esporte foram idéia sua, que são alugadas todos os dias do ano, inclusive de madrugada, quando ficam tomadas por times de várias associações. Com o aval do governador, de então, Carlos Lacerda, reuniu um grupo de amigos notáveis para materializar o projeto: o paisagista Roberto Burle Marx, o botânico Luiz Emygdio de Mello Filho e os arquitetos Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Sérgio Bernardes e Jorge Moreira.

Parque Prefeito Ferraz nome oficial do Campo, pertenceu aos Benedetinos do Mosteiro de São Bento, que adquiriram as terras em 1697, de Manoel Rodrigues Raimundo, saldando a dívida de forma peculiar: em gado advindo de Campos. Em 1840/41, com o Plano de Arruamento seus limites foram definidos como o que conhecemos hoje. Em 1882/83, o Parque foi aterrado e no Início deste século, foi urbanizado. Abriga o Centro Cultural Paschol Carlos Magno, uma Feira de Artesanato, exposições e inúmeras atrações.

Na minha vida, meu sucesso como empresário foi, em grande parte, fruto do apoio que sempre recebi da minha gente, dos meus colaboradores e da permanente companhia do meu Pai Antônio e do Tio Ricardo. Assim, para resgatar parte do que de todos recebi, com desapego pelas coisas materiais e coragem indispensável para enfrentar os desafios, pude ver o nascimento desta obra, ao fincar, aqui, em São João da Várzea, terras de João Fernandes Vieira, as bases do Instituto Ricardo Brennand em homenagem ao meu Tio. Deus quis que tivesse ao meu lado, Graça, mulher dedicada, que me deu oito filhos, companheiros do dia-a-dia, solidários com meus sonhos e que serão meus sucessores e responsáveis pela manutenção e conservação deste Patrimônio Cultural de Estudos Brasileiros, em terra do meu Pernambuco.
