O Parque das Cachoeiras nasceu de um ideal de Oduvaldo Molica, em transformar uma área de, aproximadamente, 50 hectares, numa área de lazer aberta ao publico. No dia 14 de abril de 1980, esse sonho se transformou em realidade e ele eufórico disse: “se o paraíso existiu não deve ter sido muito longe daqui”.
O Parque e composto por cachoeiras exuberantes, piscinas naturais e artificiais, bosques suntuosos e pedras esculturais, onde adultos e crianças compõem um cenário de integração com a natureza.
Alem de parque aquático, o clube conta com quadras (vôlei, futsal e peteca), campo de futebol socyte, playground, chalés, saunas, trilhas naturais, bar e restaurante e, para momentos de meditação nesse espaço privilegiado, encontra-se uma capela ecumênica que estabelece um elo com a natureza, a verdade, o respeito, a paz e o amor.

The Landing hosts more than 350 events each year including Florida/Georgia Weekend Celebrations, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, New Year’s Eve and Gator Bowl Celebrations, St. Patrick's Day and July 4th. Weekly events include live weekend entertainment in the center courtyard offering a variety of music including classic rock, oldies, contemporary, jazz, and top 40. The Landing also hosts a myriad of events for the community such as charity walks and runs and the Earth Day Ecology Fair. O Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, conhecido como Aterro do Flamengo, possui 1.200.000m² de área verde à beira-mar,com arbustos floridos, uma profusão de árvores, compondo uma das mais visitadas e belas áreas de lazer da cidade. A idealização do parque foi de Lota Macedo Soares, de família da elite carioca. Não fez universidade mas foi aluna de Cândido Portinari e tornou-se uma esteta com conhecimento de arquitetura e urbanismo. Lota era também conhecida por sua curiosidade e conhecimento de plantas.
Lota teve a idéia de iluminar o aterro à noite para permitir passeios noturnos no parque. As quadras de esporte foram idéia sua, que são alugadas todos os dias do ano, inclusive de madrugada, quando ficam tomadas por times de várias associações. Com o aval do governador, de então, Carlos Lacerda, reuniu um grupo de amigos notáveis para materializar o projeto: o paisagista Roberto Burle Marx, o botânico Luiz Emygdio de Mello Filho e os arquitetos Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Sérgio Bernardes e Jorge Moreira.

The Wyoming Dinosaur Center has 12,000 square feet of exhibition area. Fossils and life forms from earliest geologic time periods are displayed in a chronological perspective. There are over 200 displays throughout the museum. The central hall houses dozens of full-size mounted skeletons, including over 20 dinosaurs.

What better way than to open the Center's doors to the public with a standing invitation to experience the many hundreds of performances offered every season, but also, as a good neighbor, making the facilities of a great Performing Arts Center available to the Brooklyn community at large.

Helio Oiticica (1937-1980) foi um dos mais criativos artistas plásticos brasileiros. A síntese de sua obra são seus belos "Parangolés" (1964): capas, estandartes ou bandeiras coloridas de algodão ou náilon com poemas em tinta sobre o tecido a serem vestidas ou carregadas pelo ator/espectador, que passa a perceber seu corpo transformado em dança. Quase uma poesia, pois a obra de arte só se revela quando alguém a manuseia, a movimenta.

Em 16 de junho de 1950, foi inaugurado o Estádio do Maracanã, no Rio de Janeiro, para que o Brasil pudesse sediar a Copa do Mundo, já que a Europa encontrava-se abalada pela Segunda Guerra Mundial. Com grande incentivo do jornalista Mário Filho, que depois foi homenageado dando seu nome ao estádio, a obra finalmente pôde ser concretizada, contrariando a opinião pública e políticos, que defendiam a aplicação do dinheiro na construção de hospitais e escolas.
