Founded by artistic director Diana Byer in 1978 as the official training school of New York Theatre Ballet. The School teaches dance as a total art form, developing strong technical skill and discipline…fluidity and ease of movement…and a strong sense of theater, style, musicality, and expression. It is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the great ballet mistress Margaret Craske. She was certified by Enrico Cecchetti and served as director of instruction at BSNY for many years until her retirement in 1987.

BodiBalance™ is a system of dance training, body conditioning and kinesthetic awareness all in one. It was created especially for dancers by New York dancer/choreographer Carol Fonda. Every BodiBalance class contains aspects of the uniquely designed Floor WarmUp and the Movement Principles that make up the BodiBalance experience. Apply these tools to dance exercises and choreography and take your dancing to heights of free and energetic flow.

Lotus Music & Dance, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1989 by master Bharata Natyam dancer Kamala Cesar. It is a performance space, sanctuary, and center of education for traditional and indigenous performing arts forms. The mission is to keep alive and accessible the music and dance traditions of all world cultures. Lotus Music & Dance remains the only institution of its kind in New York City where master artists from India, Korea, Burma, the South Pacific, Middle East, the Mohawk Nation, West Africa, and Spain collectively call home.

The Frank Ohman School of Ballet was founded in 1979 by Frank Ohman, former soloist at New York City Ballet (NYCB) and is one of the few remaining direct links to the teaching of George Balanchine. Currently located in Commack, the school serves as a training ground for promising young dancers and offers aspiring students the opportunity to learn classical ballet in the tradition of George Balanchine. The Frank Ohman School of Ballet will guide your child from first steps to advanced technique, while instilling joy for this timeless art form. The school is a non-competition, non-recital school focusing on proper classical technique.

Since opening its doors in 1996, Uptown Dance Academy is considered the premiere dance school for urban youth interested in making dance their primary focus. Manhattan’s Largest Ballroom Dance Studio opened in April of 2009. It was our dream to provide students, teachers, social dancers and performance dancers with an elegant, functional space that could accommodate the growing need for teaching and training future ballroom dancers of every age.

As a small studio Dance Centre was able to provide individual attention to each dancer. Currently with 400 students and 4 teaching rooms, we are still dedicated to each student, both as a dancer and a person.

Konajilo Luseni is a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been dancing since the age of five. With a dance background spanning genres including modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and African, Kona has choreographed, performed and taught for various children, teen and adult groups in the New York area.
Kona's love for dance set her sights to explore a new style of movement: Salsa/Mambo on2. After a year of basic training at La Salsa De Hoy, her passion for this exciting form of dance led her to seek more advance instruction at Salsa Dance Studio.

The history of Santo Rico dates back to 1995. The name of the dance company is derived from the initial members of the group being half from Santo Domingo (Santo) and half from Puerto Rico (Rico), hence the name "Santo Rico." Santo Rico was initially formed by Wilton Beltre, a Dominican native, who expressed his love for dance by displaying his street style of dancing Mambo/Salsa in local nightclubs in New York City. Prior to forming Santo Rico, Wilton received dancing instruction from the well renowned Eddie Torres. This gave him professionalism, grace and ultimately led to the development of a unique style. During his stint with Mr. Torres Wilton excelled and brought his dancing ability to such a high level that he became one of the most outstanding members of The Eddie Torres Dance Company.

Alexandra Beller/Dances is an ensemble of highly skilled dancer/actors working on the edge between dance and theater. Rich with personal revelations, performances attempt to move, stimulate, impassion and incite the audience. Ripe with metaphor, abstracted narrative and controversial ideas, the dances traffic through the dangerous territory of homophobia, sexism, and emotional isolationism. The company seeks to intersect distinctions between races, nationalities, sexual orientations and political affiliations through a series of artistic collisions. The creations are a truly unique hybrid form, where speaking and moving are essential forces in the creation of meaning. Dances often pay homage to great writers and fertile landscapes of words are often used to create a sense of place, time and relationship. Movement is a key to the startling, idiosyncratic and mysterious information that resides in the body.

Not your typical "ballroom" studio, Martinez Dance Studio mixes technique with culture to create a vibrant atmosphere for learning authentic Latin dancing. Martinez Studios bridges the gap between all dance styles.
