West Acres Shopping Center is a regional shopping center located in the city of Fargo, North Dakota near the intersection of Interstates 29 and 94. The name of the mall is often shortened to just West Acres. It is the largest mall in the state and includes four major anchors, more than 120 smaller stores, and a 750 seat food court. The mall is also home to The Roger Maris Museum, a collection of regional art, the Touchstone Energy Dinosaur Playland, and a collection of spearfishing decoys created by the late John Jensen.
A centerpiece since the mall opened in 1972 is the Fountain of Abundance, created by (and refurbished by) Moorhead State University art professor, P. Richard Szeitz. The fountain was originally located in front of what is now Macy's, but was moved in front of J.C. Penney around the same time the food court was constructed. Source

University Mall is a two-story shopping mall located in Orem, Utah. Opening for business in March, 1973, It was named due to its close proximity to Brigham Young University even though now it is even closer to Utah Valley University. Anchor stores include, Macy's (formerly ZCMI; then Meier & Frank), Mervyn's, Nordstrom, and The Sports Authority. The mall is owned, managed and leased out by Woodbury Corporation. From the start, the mall pulled shoppers from all over central and eastern North Carolina. Many of them came to the 251,000-square-foot (23,300 m2) Hudson Belk, which is still the largest store in the complex and serves as a Belk flagship. The mall was remodeled in the mid 1980s and added many upscale specialty stores and a food court. It faced remarkably little competition in its market until the 1990s, when Cary Towne Center in nearby Cary doubled in size and spawned a companion mall, Crossroads Plaza. Source |
